Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and 10 City Councilors (5 at-large, Districts 1-5) from the City's 'Meet the City Councilors' page (https://www.worcesterma.gov/city-council/councilors) and the Election Commission's Roster of Elected Officials (https://www.worcesterma.gov/elections/elected-officials), both retrieved 2026-10-22; they agree. Worcester's council has 11 members including the Mayor, who is elected from among the at-large candidates. Official @worcesterma.gov emails and city headshot URLs linked, not copied. Worcester has no other city-wide elected office besides the School Committee (school level skipped per brief). Municipal ballots are non-partisan: party null, partyShort 'None'.
  • Next Worcester municipal election: Tuesday, November 2, 2027 (Mayor, all council and School Committee seats; two-year terms — councilor bios say 'two-year term'; the last municipal election was 2025-11-04 per the Election Commission page). No City of Worcester office is on the 2026-11-03 ballot.
  • Districts covering the city, from the City roster's ward/precinct breakdown: one congressional district (MA-2); three state Senate districts (First Worcester — Robyn K. Kennedy; Second Worcester — Michael O. Moore; Worcester & Hampshire — Peter J. Durant, R) and five House districts (13th Worcester — John J. Mahoney; 14th — James J. O'Day; 15th — Mary S. Keefe; 16th — Daniel M. Donahue; 17th — David H. A. LeBoeuf). City hall (Census coordinates 42.26336,-71.80213) is in MA-2, First Worcester and 15th Worcester per the Census geocoder's 120th Congress and 2026 state legislative layers. Only city hall's legislators are recorded as people. All five representatives and both Worcester senators were Democratic primary nominees with no Republican nominee; Durant (R) faces Shannon M. Teabo (D) in Worcester & Hampshire.
  • Federal: James P. McGovern from https://www.house.gov/representatives (Massachusetts 2nd; no photo on the directory, so none linked). U.S. Senators from the City roster plus the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json for term dates; senate.gov returned HTTP 403 to robots.txt and was not used. Governor Maura Healey and Lt. Governor Kimberley Driscoll from the City roster (mass.gov not fetched).
  • State legislators from the Massachusetts Legislature member lists (malegislature.gov/Legislators/Members/Senate and /House), retrieved 2026-10-22; official @masenate.gov/@mahouse.gov emails kept. malegislature.gov's Terms forbid use of its photographs without the General Court's written consent, so legislator photos are NOT linked.
  • Candidates: the Secretary of the Commonwealth's 2026 State Election candidate list (sec.state.ma.us; /divisions/elections/ is not disallowed by robots.txt, only /elections and /ele) could not be read — the host served an Imperva/Incapsula JavaScript challenge to the very first page request, not bypassed. The Worcester Election Commission has posted no 2026 state-election candidate list or specimen ballot (its elections page still shows the 2025 municipal election; its 2026-09-01 primary results PDF, /election-results/20260901.pdf, is a scanned image with no text layer). Nominees therefore come from the Secretary's PD43+ site (electionstats.state.ma.us, robots allows all): certified 2026 State Primary (September 1) results, one row per party nominee. Every running status resting on these is marked 'unofficial': true. Unenrolled/independent and minor-party candidates who filed nomination papers for the general are NOT captured; write-ins and primary losers excluded.
  • 2026 ballot as captured: U.S. Senate — Markey (D, incumbent) vs John Deaton (R). MA-2 — McGovern (D, incumbent), no Republican nominee. Governor — Healey (D, incumbent) vs Michael Roger Minogue (R); Lt. Governor — Driscoll (D, incumbent) vs Shawn Oliver (R). Senate First Worcester — Kennedy (D, incumbent), no Republican nominee. House 15th Worcester — Keefe (D, incumbent), no Republican nominee. counts.unopposed = 3 (McGovern, Kennedy, Keefe) means no other party's nominee in the primary results; unenrolled challengers could not be checked.
  • Robots/terms: worcesterma.gov (robots allows the pages used; Disclaimer: materials copyright City of Worcester, personal non-commercial download only), house.gov (robots allows /representatives; Terms: government works not copyright protected), malegislature.gov (robots allows all; photos restricted), electionstats.state.ma.us (robots allows all; terms link to blocked sec.state.ma.us), unitedstates.github.io (robots 404; CC0), geocoding.geo.census.gov (robots 404), sec.state.ma.us (Incapsula challenge), senate.gov (403). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (the roster's Governor's Council entry gives a gmail address; Governor's Council is not recorded). standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read).
