Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and five district council members from https://www.waco-texas.com/Government/City-Council, retrieved 2026-10-31 (robots.txt * group, no ClaudeBot/anthropic-ai group, no Crawl-delay; /Government/City-Council allowed). Official @wacotx.gov emails kept; council portraits linked, not copied (the page lists them in profile order; the Mayor's image file is named district5.jpg). Council-manager government; non-partisan, party null. The page: "Council members are elected for two-year terms. Elections for the mayor and council members from Districts I and III are held in even years and elections for council members from District II, IV and V are held in odd years." So the Mayor, D-I and D-III seats were on the May 2026 city ballot (results not read); next regular city election May 2027 (Districts II, IV, V) on the Texas uniform May date (May 1, 2027, computed, not read). The City Elections pages (/Government/Elections, /Resident/Quick-Links/Elections) are Disallowed in robots.txt and were not fetched, so a November 2026 city item (charter or bond questions, special election) could not be checked.
  • Federal/state candidates: Texas SOS Election Results site, 2026 November General Election (results.html, "(Updated 10/14/2026 07:34 AM)"), incumbents marked (I); robots.txt 404. Write-ins skipped. Names title-cased; ballotName keeps the printed form.
  • Districts: Census geocoder (robots 404) City Hall match "300 AUSTIN AVE, WACO, TX, 76701" (-97.12998, 31.55833): McLennan County, CD-17, SD-22, HD-56. A 7x7 grid over 31.45-31.65 N, 97.05-97.30 W (15 points inside "Waco city"): CD-17 and SD-22 on every point; HD-56 (12) and HD-13 (3). So one Senate and two House districts cover the city; only City Hall's are recorded. HD-13 on the SOS listing: Angelia Orr (I) R v Albert Hunter D (not recorded as rows).
  • SD-22: senate.texas.gov/member.php?d=22 (robots allows) prints "This Senate seat is currently vacant." with only a Constituent Services office, so no sitting state senator is recorded; the SOS listing has no incumbent in the SD-22 race (David Cook R v Amy Martinez-Salas D). Why/when it became vacant was not read from an official page.
  • Sitting members: Sessions from house.gov/representatives (robots allows); Senators from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (Cornyn to 2027-01-03, Cruz to 2031-01-03); senate.gov not used. Pat Curry from Texas Legislature Online MemberInfo (capitol.texas.gov robots allows /Members/). Governor Abbott from the (I) mark on the SOS listing.
  • Not recorded: McLennan County offices, school boards, judges, State Board of Education, other statewide row offices. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (the Senate and council pages print phones; not copied). standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). Ballotpedia, Wikipedia and news not used.
