Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and Councilmembers Districts 2-6 from cityoftyler.org City Council Members pages (each member page prints "Terms: …"), retrieved 2026-10-31 (robots.txt allows these paths). District 1 is printed "Vacant" with a link to the Special Called Election. No emails are printed on the member pages (a Contact City Council form only). Tyler council is non-partisan; Mayor and Councilmembers serve two-year terms, three-term limit (City Clerk Elections page).
  • City elections: "Tyler City Council elections are held in May of each year. The election for Mayor and Council Districts 2, 4, and 6 is held on even-numbered years. The election for Council Districts 1, 3, and 5 is held on odd-numbered years." 2026: May 2 general (Mayor: John Nix, James Wynne, Stuart Hene, Shirley J. McKellar; D2 Petra Hawkins; D4 Clint Childs; D6 Carleen Dark-Bays) with a mayoral runoff (Hene elected June 13, 2026 per his page). Next regular city election: May 2027 (Districts 1, 3, 5) — the uniform May election date (first Saturday, May 1, 2027) computed, not read.
  • Federal/state candidates: Texas SOS Election Results site, 2026 November General Election (page "Updated 10/14/2026 07:34 AM"), lists each race with candidates and (I) for incumbents before polls open; robots.txt 404 (no rules). Write-in lines skipped. Names title-cased; ballotName keeps the printed form. Statewide rows (Cornyn, Cruz, Abbott, Paxton, Talarico, Brown, Hinojosa, Dixon) carried over from the us-lubbock record, which read the same SOS listing.
  • Districts: city hall (coordinates 32.3510, -95.3010) geocodes to CD-1, State Senate District 1, State House District 6 (Census geocoder, 120th Congress and 2026 state legislative layers). Not point-sampled: other Texas House districts may cover outer parts of the city; only city hall's members recorded.
  • Federal: Moran from house.gov/representatives (robots allows). State: Hughes from senate.texas.gov/member.php?d=1 (robots disallows only /_assets, /bin, /kids, /hola, /tsn, /memberForm.php; photo under /members/d01/img/ linked, not copied); Alders from Texas Legislature Online (capitol.texas.gov MemberInfo, allowed). house.texas.gov not used.
  • Smith County Elections (www.smith-county.com/233/Current-Election-Information; CivicPlus robots names ClaudeBot with path rules only) read once: early-voting and election-day locations for November 3, 2026, no candidate list on that page. City of Tyler Terms of Use: "All rights reserved" — only facts recorded; no bios, no city photos. No home addresses, phones or personal emails. standsFor null for everyone. Nothing blocked.
