Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: New Jersey Division of Elections official lists — US Senate (dated 07/27/2026; all four candidates printed for OCEAN county) and House of Representatives (dated 09/04/2026; Fourth Congressional District: MONMOUTH (part) - OCEAN (part): Christopher H. Smith * Republican, Rachel Peace Democratic, no others), read 2026-10-31. Both lists print candidates' addresses (P.O. boxes and street addresses) — none copied. Write-ins skipped.
  • BLOCKED / NOT CAPTURED: the Ocean County Clerk's site (www.co.ocean.nj.us and co.ocean.nj.us) timed out on robots.txt over HTTPS and HTTP, 2026-10-31 — so no other URL there was requested. A web search shows the Clerk posts a '2026 general election candidate' certification sheet (search snippet: updated 8-31-2026, listing towns such as Little Egg Harbor, Mantoloking and South Toms River; e.g. https://www.co.ocean.nj.us/WebContentFiles/a6ad1195-1bbf-442f-bbd0-b4398929f0ef.pdf) — not read, so whether any Toms River Township Council seat or the Toms River Regional Board of Education is on the 2026-11-03 ballot is unverified. Patch's 2025 voter guide (news, not used for status) says all four ward seats were up in 2025 for four-year terms, which would put the next ward election in 2029 and the Mayor/at-large seats in 2027 — not confirmed on an official calendar. Jim: re-read that Ocean County PDF to fill Toms River municipal candidates if any.
  • Municipal: Mayor Daniel T. Rodrick from the Mayor's Office page (official email as printed; office phone/fax not copied); seven Council members (four wards, three at-large) and the 2026 President/Vice President from /233/Township-Council, retrieved 2026-10-31. The council page prints no emails or portraits. Toms River holds partisan municipal elections but the township pages print no party: party null.
  • Districts: Census geocoder (robots 404) at Town Hall: NJ-4 (120th), State Senate District 10 / Assembly District 10. A 7x7 coordinate grid over 39.90-40.06 N, 74.30-74.06 W: 19 points inside 'Toms River township', all NJ-4 and LD-10. The township is a Census county subdivision (not an incorporated place); a sliver of NJ-2 could be missed by the grid.
  • Sitting members: NJ-4 from house.gov/representatives (robots allows; read 2026-10-31). Senators Booker and Kim and Governor Sherrill carried from the us-newark record (CC0 @unitedstates list; nj.gov/governor; read 2026-10-22). LD-10 legislators from the Division of Elections' official 2023 State Senate and 2025 General Assembly District 10 results (flagged unofficial:true for current tenure): www.njleg.state.nj.us timed out on robots.txt, 2026-10-31 (earlier runs: connection refused). No legislative emails or photos.
  • Robots/terms: www.tomsrivertownship.com robots.txt has a group naming ClaudeBot that disallows only admin/search/calendar/RSS-type paths; Crawl-delay 10 honoured. www.nj.gov robots allows /state/elections/. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null throughout.
