Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Onondaga County Board of Elections 'Official Candidates List, November 3, 2026 (Revised 9/18/2026)', the no-addresses edition linked from onondaga.gov/elections/candidate-information (PDF created 2026-09-18). Party = every ballot line as printed (DEM, REP, CON Conservative, WOR Working Families, VA Vote Affordable); partyShort = the major-party line. Write-ins and primary losers are not on the list. The Board's 'Offices to be Filled' list (6/12/2026) confirms the same offices.
  • Officeholders: Onondaga BOE 'Onondaga County Elected Official List' (PDF created 2026-04-03). That list prints each official's RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS — none was copied; only name, office, party and term dates were read.
  • District coverage: Syracuse is wholly in NY-22 and SD-48 on the grid; Assembly AD-129 (12 of 16 points, incl. City Hall) and AD-128 (4; Pamela Jo Hunter DEM/WOR, sitting, v Patrick J. Becher REP/CON). Only City Hall's state districts are recorded as people.
  • AD-129 is OPEN: sitting member William B. Magnarelli (Dem; term ends 12/31/2026) is not on the 2026 list; Maurice Mo Brown (DEM/WOR) v Shawn M. Fiato (REP/CON). NY-22: John W. Mannion (DEM/WOR, sitting) v Kailee Buller (REP/CON). SD-48: Rachel May (DEM/WOR, sitting) v Richard McCarron Jr. (REP/CON). Governor: Hochul/Adams (DEM/WOR) v Blakeman/Hood (REP/CON/VA). Comptroller (DiNapoli D/W v Joseph Hernandez R/C) and Attorney General (Letitia A. James D/W v Saritha Komatireddy R/C) are on the ballot but not recorded as people.
  • Municipal: Mayor, City Auditor, Common Council President, four Councilors-at-Large and five District Councilors. Names and order from the City of Syracuse 'Common Council Members' page (syr.gov, robots allows); party and term dates from the Onondaga BOE Elected Official List. The BOE list (April 2026) shows one at-large seat 'Vacant'; the City page now lists Helen Hudson as Common Councilor At-Large, and she is the Democratic candidate to fill that vacancy, so she is recorded incumbent-running (her party and appointment date are not printed on either page). The council page prints no individual emails; the general office line is not copied.
  • District 1 Councilor: the BOE list prints 'Marty Nave', the City page 'Marino L. Nave'; the City's form is used, the BOE's kept in a note.
  • Next regular municipal election: November 2027 (City Auditor and Councilor-at-Large Majok, terms ending 12/31/2027 on the BOE list); Mayor, Council President and the five District Councilors hold terms to 12/31/2028 (election November 2028) — inferred from printed term ends. Commissioner of Education (school) and judges are not recorded. standsFor null for everyone. Ballotpedia and Wikipedia not used.
