Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Candidates: Missouri SOS 'Certification of Candidates and Party Emblems' for the November 3, 2026 general election, certified August 25, 2026 (PDF on sos.mo.gov, read 2026-10-29). Cross-checked against the Greene County Clerk's 'November 3, 2026 General Election Candidates and Ballot Issues' composite (vote.greenecountymo.gov, PDF dated 2026-09-28): identical for State Auditor, MO-7, SD-30 and HD-132. No independent or Green candidates in these races. The certification prints candidate addresses; none copied. Write-ins and primary losers excluded.
- Greene County offices are on the ballot (Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon R, Circuit Clerk Bryan Feemster R, County Clerk Shane Schoeller R, Recorder Cheryl Dawson-Spaulding R, Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson R, Collector Allen Icet R, Sheriff Jason B. Johnson R, all the only printed candidate; Auditor: Cindy S. Stein R vs Angela Crawford D). Not recorded as people: county offices are outside the brief's level mapping for a city that is not its own county.
- Districts covering the city: Census Geocoder coordinates endpoint (robots.txt 404). City hall point 37.2087,-93.2923 (approximate, Busch Municipal Building) returns Springfield city, MO-7 on both the 119th (2022 map) and 120th (2025 HB 1) layers, SD-30 and HD-132 on both 2024 and 2026 legislative layers. A 6x6 grid over the city's box was attempted; the geocoder timed out on 20 of 36 points and only 9 points fell inside the city: all MO-7 and SD-30, with HD-130, 133, 135, 136 (plus 132 at city hall). The Greene County Clerk's composite lists HD-130 to 137; at least 5 house districts cover the city and probably more. SD-20 also covers part of Greene County; whether it reaches inside city limits was not established. Only city hall's SD-30 and HD-132 are recorded as people. The contested Missouri congressional map does not change the district for Springfield (MO-7 on both).
- Federal: U.S. Representative Eric Burlison (MO-7, R) from house.gov/representatives (2026-10-29) and the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (read 2026-10-29), which also gives Senators Hawley and Schmitt (senate.gov was 403 to this project on 2026-10-22, so not requested again). No federal photos linked.
- State: Governor Mike Kehoe from governor.mo.gov/about (re-read 2026-10-29; photo linked); party from the SOS Missouri Roster as read for us-st-louis. Senator Lincoln Hough from www.senate.mo.gov/senators and his member page (Party Republican; photo linked). Rep. Jeremy Dean (HD-132, D) from house.mo.gov/MemberGridCluster.aspx; house.mo.gov robots.txt sets Crawl-delay: 120 and 'Disallow: /*?', so one request only and no member-detail or photo URL. Two sitting state representatives, Melanie Stinnett (HD-133, R) and Betsy Fogle (HD-135, D), are running for the open SD-30 seat.
- Municipal: Mayor and 8 councilmembers from springfieldmo.gov/145/City-Council (2026-10-29): council/manager system, 'eight council members who are each elected for a four-year term on a non-partisan basis, and a mayor who is elected for a four-year term'; four General seats (A to D) and four Zones (1 to 4). Party null, partyShort 'None'. The City Manager is appointed, not recorded. No individual profile pages, emails or photos on the page (only a group portrait); the council Directory link answered a redirect and was not followed.
- Next City of Springfield municipal election: April 6, 2027 General Municipal Election (City Clerk 'Run for Council' page) for General Seats C and D and Zones 2 and 3 (elected April 2023); petitions accepted December 7, 2026 to January 19, 2027. The Mayor, General A and B and Zones 1 and 4 are by the four-year cycle next up in 2029 (inferred, not read). The City's only items on the November 3, 2026 ballot are Charter amendment Questions 1 to 4 (Greene County composite).
- Robots/terms: sos.mo.gov (allows /CMSImages), vote.greenecountymo.gov (WordPress; disallows only /wp-admin/), greenecountymo.gov (allows /), springfieldmo.gov (names ClaudeBot in an AI-crawler group that disallows only admin/search/calendar/RSS-type paths; the pages used are allowed; Terms of Use read: informational, not official copies, restricts automated mirroring — three pages fetched 10 s apart), house.gov (allows /representatives), www.senate.mo.gov and senate.mo.gov (allow), house.mo.gov (allows the query-less member grid; crawl-delay 120 honoured), governor.mo.gov (allows), geocoding.geo.census.gov and unitedstates.github.io (no robots.txt). No source states a reuse licence except the CC0 legislators file.
- No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). Photos linked, never copied.
