Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer and 10 ward aldermen from the Sangamon County Clerk's "City of Springfield Officials" PDF (updated 5/9/2025): all term 2023–2027, Nonpartisan; Ward 1 (Jeff Cox) appointed Feb 2025, City Clerk (Chuck Redpath) appointed Jan 2025. The PDF prints home addresses and phones — none copied. Ward-named / campaign-style gmail/yahoo addresses kept; two plainly personal ones (Wards 4, 5) left null. Council photos linked from springfield.il.us City Council page (image file names match the ward listing).
  • Next Springfield municipal election: April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election (Mayor, Clerk, Treasurer, all 10 wards — terms end 2027 per the county list; consolidated primary Feb 23, 2027 per the Illinois cycle; Madison County's page confirms 2027 consolidated petitions file Nov 16–23, 2026). No City office on the 2026-11-03 ballot.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at city hall (300 S 7th St) → IL-13, SD-48, HD-96. A 7x7 coordinate grid (21 points inside Springfield city) gave IL-13 16 / IL-15 5; SD-48 21/21; HD-95 16 / HD-96 5. HD-95 member Michael J. Coffey, Jr. (R; Sangamon State Officials page) was the sole Republican primary candidate in HD-95 and the Democratic primary had "NO CANDIDATE" — not recorded as a person (city hall rule).
  • Statewide / federal candidates from the Madison County Clerk list (scanned PDF read page by page): U.S. Senate — Don Tracy (R), Juliana Stratton (D), Whitfield Harrington Jr (ACP); Governor/Lt Gov — Pritzker/Mitchell (D), Bailey/Del Mar (R), Corbett/Schofield (IND); IL-13 — Budzinski (D) v Jeff Wilson (R); IL-15 — Mary E. Miller (R) v Jennifer Todd (D). Matches the Cook County Clerk list used for us-chicago on the statewide contests. Party as printed (R, D, ACP, IND).
  • SD-48 and HD-96 candidacies rest on Sangamon County certified March 17, 2026 primary results (sole primary candidates) and are flagged unofficial: true. counts.unopposed = 1 (HD-96 Scherer — no Republican primary candidate; a later slating could not be checked).
  • Federal: senators from the Sangamon Federal Officials page with terms from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (senate.gov not tried — 403 on robots.txt in earlier runs); representatives from house.gov/representatives. No federal photos linked.
  • BLOCKED / not used: elections.il.gov (robots.txt Disallow: / — earlier run); www.ilga.gov (TLS certificate chain failed to verify for this client — not retried with another tool, so ILGA member pages were not read; state legislators rest on the Sangamon County Clerk State Officials page). Sangamon's sample ballot is behind a personal voter lookup (vr.platinumvrms.com) — not used.
  • Robots/terms: sangamonil.gov (robots allows; county files on sangamondepartments.blob.core.windows.net — robots.txt returned 400), results.enr.clarityelections.com (no robots.txt), madisoncountyil.gov (no robots.txt; PDF on cms4files.revize.com — robots allows *.pdf), springfield.il.us (no robots.txt), house.gov (allows /representatives), geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt), unitedstates.github.io (no robots.txt; CC0). No terms restricting reuse found. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded.
