Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor Katie B. Wilson from https://www.seattle.gov/mayor; City Attorney Erika Evans from https://www.seattle.gov/cityattorney; nine Councilmembers (Districts 1-7, Positions 8 and 9 citywide) from the member cards on https://www.seattle.gov/council, all retrieved 2026-10-15 (seattle.gov robots.txt: 'User-agent: * Allow: /'). Seattle city offices are nonpartisan, so party is null. Joy Hollingsworth is Council President. Member pages give terms: Eddie Lin (D2) 'November 2025 – 2027'; Debora Juarez (D5) 'July 2025 – November 2026' (appointed). Council headshots are linked, not copied; no reuse terms are stated.
  • City offices on the November 3, 2026 ballot: the King County Elections list carries 'City of Seattle, Council District No. 5' (Nilu Jenks, Julie Kang; Juarez is not running), recorded as a special election for the rest of the term, plus Seattle Municipal Court Judge Positions 1-7 (judicial, not recorded as people: Pos 1 Cat McDowall, 2 Katharine Edwards, 3 Pooja Vaddadi, 4 Anita Crawford-Willis, 5 Gabe Rothstein vs Garmon Newsom, 6 Shantrice Anderson, 7 Damon Shadid). No Mayor, City Attorney or other council seat is on the 2026 ballot. Seattle's regular municipal elections are in odd years; next is November 2, 2027 (Districts 1-7). King County Elections has a 'Ranked choice voting in Seattle' page (not read here).
  • Congressional districts covering the city: Census TIGERweb polygon for Seattle city (place 5363000, layer 28) sampled on a 160x160 grid (18,556 points inside, water included) against the 120th Congress districts (layer 54): WA-7 (15,969 points) and WA-9 (2,587). Slivers smaller than the grid spacing (~0.15 km) could be missed. City Hall (600 4th Ave) is WA-7, LD-34 Senate and House in the Census geocoder (2026 state legislative layers).
  • Legislative districts covering the city by the same grid (2026 layers 56/58, identical in both chambers because Washington elects one senator and two representatives per district): LD-34 (5,430 points), 36 (4,735), 46 (2,831), 37 (2,781), 43 (2,093) and 32 (686). Only City Hall's LD-34 members are recorded, per the brief. Other 2026 Seattle-area legislative contests are on the same King County list (e.g. LD-36 Senate Noel C. Frame vs Jillian England; LD-37 Senate Chipalo Street vs Tatiana Brown; LD-43 Senate Jamie Pedersen vs Hannah Sabio-Howell; LD-46 Senate Javier Valdez vs Sandra Stephens) but are not recorded as people.
  • Sitting U.S. Representatives from https://www.house.gov/representatives (Washington table: Jayapal, Pramila, D, Washington 7th; Smith, Adam, D, Washington 9th), retrieved 2026-10-15. U.S. Senators Patty Murray (term ends 2029-01-03) and Maria Cantwell (2031-01-03), both Democratic: senate.gov returns HTTP 403, so they come from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json. Washington has no U.S. Senate contest in 2026 (none on the King County general list). No federal photos linked.
  • State: Governor Bob Ferguson from https://governor.wa.gov/ ('Get to know Governor Bob Ferguson'); party from the Secretary of State certified 2024 results (results.vote.wa.gov; 'Prefers Democratic Party', 55.51%). LD-34 members from the Washington State Legislature roster https://leg.wa.gov/legislators/ (data-district='34': Senator Emily Alvarado; Representatives Joe Fitzgibbon, Majority Leader, and Brianna Thomas, Assistant Majority Whip; party printed 'Democrat'). Positions (1 = Thomas, 2 = Fitzgibbon) from the King County 2026 general list. Former LD-34 Senator Joe Nguyen appears in the 2025-26 sponsor web service but not on the current roster. Legislator photos are linked thumbnails on leg.wa.gov; no reuse terms stated.
  • Candidates: King County Elections 'Candidates' list for the November 3, 2026 General Election, https://info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/Vote/contests/candidates.aspx?eid=55 (linked from kingcounty.gov/en/dept/elections; no withdrawn-candidate markings on the page), retrieved 2026-10-15. Washington is top-two: party is the candidate's stated preference as printed ('Prefers Democratic Party' etc.), kept in ballotParty. WA-7: Pramila Jayapal (D, inc.) vs Nirav Sheth (R). WA-9: Adam Smith (D, inc.) vs Doug Basler (R). LD-34 Senate: Emily Alvarado (D, inc.) unopposed; LD-34 Pos 1: Brianna K. Thomas (D, inc.) unopposed; LD-34 Pos 2: Joe Fitzgibbon (D, inc.) vs Mary Anito (D) — same-party top-two race. The Washington Secretary of State's own certified statewide list was not read (King County is the county of record for every Seattle contest); primary losers and write-ins excluded.
  • Robots/terms: seattle.gov (allows all), kingcounty.gov and info.kingcounty.gov (contests pages allowed; '© King County, WA'; 'King County Elections does not correct punctuation, grammar, or fact check candidate and measure statements'), house.gov (allows), leg.wa.gov and wslwebservices.leg.wa.gov (no robots.txt — 404), governor.wa.gov (standard Drupal robots, allowed), results.vote.wa.gov (no robots.txt — 404), geocoding.geo.census.gov and tigerweb.geo.census.gov (public Census services), unitedstates.github.io (CC0). Blocked, not bypassed: senate.gov (403, per earlier runs; not retried).
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (the King County list and the legislature roster print phones and emails; none copied). standsFor null for everyone (candidate statements on the King County pamphlet pages were not read). Wikipedia, Ballotpedia and news were not used.
