Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Region check: local/data/us-scottsdale.json is Scottsdale, Arizona (centre 33.5729,-111.9006).
  • Districts: the Census Geocoder did not match the City Hall street address (3939 N Drinkwater Blvd); City Hall coordinates (33.4937,-111.9227) geocode to CD-1 (120th) and 2026 State Senate/House District 8. A 9x9 grid over 33.46-33.84 N, 111.76-111.96 W gave 35 points inside 'Scottsdale city': all 35 in CD-1; LD 3 (27), LD 4 (5), LD 8 (3). So most of Scottsdale is in LD 3, but per the brief only the City Hall district (LD 8) members are recorded. Not recorded as rows: the LD 3 and LD 4 members (azleg.gov rosters not re-read).
  • LD 8 rows (Sen. Lauren Kuby, Reps. Janeen Connolly and Brian Garcia), the two U.S. Senators (GPO Congressional Directory) and Governor Hobbs are carried over unchanged from the us-tempe record (retrieved 2026-10-22), region changed; azleg.gov (robots Crawl-delay 120) was not re-requested. AZ-1 confirmed on house.gov/representatives (2026-10-31).
  • Municipal: Mayor and six at-large Councilmembers from https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/council ('Last Updated: Jun 1, 2026') and each member's page (official @scottsdaleaz.gov emails as printed; office phones not copied), retrieved 2026-10-31. Photos linked from the City's image library, not copied. The Charter creates no other city-wide elected office.
  • 2026 city election (City Clerk, https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/elections): 'eight residents running for three seats' at the July 21, 2026 primary; Solange Whitehead won a majority and 'was re-elected'; Barry Graham, Bob Littlefield, Michelle Ugenti-Rita and Raoul Zubia advanced; 'On August 4, 2026, Bob Littlefield formally withdrew'; so Graham, Ugenti-Rita and Zubia are on the November 3 ballot for two seats. Terms begin January 2027. Candidates from the Candidate Listing page (campaign websites and campaign-domain emails kept; phones not copied). Next city election: 2028 (Mayor and three seats — inferred from the January 2025 term starts; not stated on the page).
  • NOT CAPTURED — federal and state candidates: azsos.gov and elections.maricopa.gov both answered robots.txt with a Cloudflare 'Just a moment...' challenge (HTTP 403), 2026-10-31; not bypassed, no other UA or tool tried. So Hobbs, Schweikert and the LD 8 members stay 'elected' and no challengers are recorded (same gap as us-tempe, us-chandler, us-mesa).
  • Robots/terms: scottsdaleaz.gov robots.txt is 'User-agent: *' with no disallow; footer '© All Rights Reserved, City of Scottsdale'. standsFor null throughout (the 2026 Candidate Information Pamphlet PDF was not read).
