Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: Census geocoder at Village Hall gives CD-8, SD-28, HD-56. A 5x5 geocoder grid (17 points inside the village) put every point in IL-8; state districts seen: SD-28 (12), SD-22 (3), SD-26 (1), SD-27 (1); HD-56 (12), HD-44 (3), HD-51 (1), HD-53 (1). A sample, not a full overlay. Only Village Hall's seats are recorded as people.
  • Candidates: the Cook County Clerk (www.cookcountyclerkil.gov) robots.txt now has 'User-agent: ClaudeBot / Disallow: /' and 'User-agent: anthropic-ai / Disallow: /' (checked 2026-10-31; it allowed this client when us-chicago was built on 10-15), so the Cook list — which covers most of the village — was NOT read. Illinois State Board of Elections robots.txt disallows all (per us-chicago). Used instead: the DuPage County Clerk Election Division '2026 General Official Candidate Listing' (updated September 28, 2026; PDF on cms5.revize.com, whose robots.txt allows *.pdf). Part of Schaumburg lies in DuPage County, and the listing carries the statewide contests, the Eighth Congressional District and Representative 56th District, so every contest recorded here is from an official county list; it is not the Cook ballot certification. The listing prints no addresses.
  • Open seats: U.S. Senate (Durbin not on the listing) and IL-8 (Krishnamoorthi not on the listing). Stratton is the Democratic U.S. Senate nominee; Pritzker's running mate is Christian Mitchell. Joint Governor/Lt Governor tickets are split into one row each. Other statewide offices (Attorney General Raoul v Fioretti, Secretary of State Giannoulias v Harris, Comptroller Croke v Drew, and more) are on the listing but outside the brief.
  • Municipal: www.villageofschaumburg.com returns an Akamai 'Access Denied' (403) even to robots.txt (both www and bare host), so no village page was read and NO municipal rows are written. For the coordinator to verify later (unverified, not used as a source): a web-search summary of the village's own 'Village Board' page names Village President Tom Dailly ('current term expires in May 2027') and a six-member board 'elected at-large by nonpartisan ballot' on four-year staggered terms; it named Trustee Brian Bieschke but not the full roster.
  • Next municipal election: Illinois consolidated election, April 6, 2027 (date confirmed on the Cook County Clerk's 2027 page per us-chicago; not re-read here). Village President and three trustee seats would be on it if the summary above is right.
  • Robots/terms: ilga.gov (member pages allowed; Crawl-delay 10 honoured), gov.illinois.gov (Allow: /), cms5.revize.com (PDFs allowed), www.dupagecounty.gov (allows), clerk.house.gov and unitedstates.github.io (no robots.txt), geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt). tigerweb.geo.census.gov answered robots.txt with an F5 'Request Rejected' page, so it was not used for overlays. standsFor null for everyone. No phones, addresses or personal emails recorded (ILGA member pages print district office phones; not copied).
