Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: City Hall (38.4387, -122.7122; coordinates only) sent to the Census Geocoder: Santa Rosa city, CD-1 (120th), SD-2 and AD-2 (2026 vintages). A 12x12 grid over -122.82..-122.58, 38.38..38.52 put 41 points inside the city: on the 2026 maps all 41 in CD-1 and SD-2, 23 in AD-2 and 18 in AD-12; on the 119th/2024 maps (ACS2025_Current vintage) 34 in CD-4 and 7 in CD-2, all SD-2. Slivers narrower than the ~2 km grid could be missed.
  • Candidates: Sonoma County Registrar of Voters 'November 3, 2026, General Election: Candidates on the Ballot' and 'Offices Up for Election' (incumbents named), read 2026-10-22. Party preference and ballot designation as printed; the page prints no addresses. standsFor quotes come only from each candidate's own paid statement in the county voter guide PDFs ('printed exactly as submitted by the candidate'). Gibbs (SD-2), Greer (AD-2) submitted none; Becerra/Hilton statements are in the State guide (not read). The CA SOS certified list (elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov, dated 2026-08-27) was NOT fetched: that host answers robots.txt with 403. admin.cdn.sos.ca.gov (California Roster) also answers robots.txt with S3 AccessDenied 403, so it was not used either.
  • Federal: @unitedstates legislators-current.json (CC0) and the house.gov Directory of Representatives, 2026-10-22. Thompson (CA-4) and Huffman (CA-2) represent Santa Rosa now and are both on the 2026 ballot, but in districts that no longer include the city, so they are 'elected' here, not 'incumbent-running'. Gallagher is the sitting CA-1 member for a CA-1 that does not yet include Santa Rosa, so he is 'running'.
  • State: Governor from gov.ca.gov/about; SD-2 McGuire from senate.ca.gov/senators; AD-2 Rogers and AD-12 Connolly from assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers. Only City Hall's districts (SD-2, AD-2) are recorded; two Assembly districts cover the city.
  • Municipal: santa-rosa.legistar.com City Council body page (no robots.txt; no terms page found) lists seven members with district, title and term dates, and official srcity.org emails. Mayor Mark Stapp and Vice Mayor Jeff Okrepkie are selected by the Council (titles from Legistar). Santa Rosa elects council by district; no other city-wide elected office appears on the county's offices-up list (City Attorney/Clerk not elected, per the county list showing only council) - www.srcity.org could not be read to confirm.
  • Blocked: www.srcity.org returns a Cloudflare 'Sorry, you have been blocked' (civicplus.io) 403 even on robots.txt, so the City Clerk's election page, council photos and the city's terms could not be read. Not retried with another agent or tool. No council photos recorded.
  • Next municipal elections: Districts 2, 4 and 6 on 2026-11-03; Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 in November 2028 (Legistar terms end 12/31/2028).
  • Robots/terms: socovotes.com robots 'User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10' (honoured, 10 s between requests); County of Sonoma Terms of Use read before content (privacy/monitoring only, no reuse restriction). geocoding.geo.census.gov, unitedstates.github.io, santa-rosa.legistar.com and clerk.house.gov have no robots.txt (404). house.gov, senate.ca.gov, assembly.ca.gov, gov.ca.gov robots allow the pages used. One User-Agent throughout; no forms, logins or terms accepted. Write-ins and primary losers excluded. No street addresses in any row.
