Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Municipal: Mayor Kevin McCarty and Council Members for Districts 1-8 from https://www.cityofsacramento.gov/mayor-council (retrieved 2026-10-22). Sacramento's charter offices beyond Mayor and Council (City Manager, Attorney, Clerk, Treasurer, Auditor) are appointed, not elected. City Hall is 915 I St.
- City elections: the City Clerk's 'Candidates for City Council Election' page states that on 2026-06-02 Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 were elected and, per the County Registrar of Voters' certification of 2026-06-26, all four incumbents were re-elected (Lisa M. Kaplan, Karina Talamantes, Caity Maple, Rick Jennings). The 'Running for Sacramento City Council' page states 'There are no city council candidates running in the November 2026 election', and the measures page states there are no City of Sacramento measures on the 2026-11-03 ballot. Next municipal election: 2028 (primary June 2028, with any runoff 2028-11-07) for Mayor and Districts 2, 4, 6, 8. A 'Ranked Choice Voting for Sacramento Act' initiative petition is in circulation (notice filed 2026-08-31).
- Sacramento municipal offices are non-partisan; party null / partyShort 'None'.
- Congressional districts covering the city: Census TIGERweb polygon for Sacramento city (place 0664000) sampled on a 150x150 grid (12,437 points inside the city) against the 119th Congress districts (tigerWMS_ACS2025) and the 120th/2026 map (tigerWMS_Current). 119th: CA-6 (4,884 pts) and CA-7 (7,553). 2026 map: CA-3 (1,769), CA-6 (5,389), CA-7 (5,279). City Hall is CA-7, SD-8, AD-6 (Census geocoder). Legislative districts covering the city (same grid, 2026 layers): State Senate SD-8 (all but 2 points; SD-6 has a 2-point sliver) and Assembly AD-6 (7,839), AD-10 (4,597), AD-9 (1-point sliver); only City Hall's are listed per the brief. AD-10's Stephanie Nguyen (D, incumbent) faces Vinaya Singh (R) on the certified list but is not listed.
- Sitting U.S. Representatives from https://www.house.gov/representatives (California rows, retrieved 2026-10-22), cross-checked with the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json; photos linked from clerk.house.gov by bioguide id. Kevin Kiley (house.gov 'I', CA-3 on the 119th map) does not represent any part of the city now, so he appears only as a CA-6 candidate. Ami Bera currently holds CA-6 but is on the 2026 list for CA-3.
- U.S. Senators Alex Padilla (term to 2029) and Adam B. Schiff (term to 2031) from the CC0 @unitedstates dataset (senate.gov not fetched: it returned 403 to scripts in the Los Angeles run). No U.S. Senate contest on the 2026 certified list.
- Candidates (federal and state): California Secretary of State 'Certified List of Candidates for the November 3, 2026, General Election', certified 2026-08-27, retrieved 2026-10-22. Top-two primary: CA-7 (Matsui vs Vang) and AD-6 (Krell vs Singh) are Democrat-vs-Democrat. Party preference and ballot designation as printed; '*' on the list marks incumbents. The SOS contact list was not used.
- State: Governor Gavin Newsom from the Governor's Proclamation (SOS PDF) as in the Los Angeles record; Governor is an open seat (Becerra vs Hilton). State Senator Angelique V. Ashby from senate.ca.gov/senators; Assemblymember Maggy Krell from assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers (retrieved 2026-10-22).
- Robots/terms: house.gov, senate.ca.gov and assembly.ca.gov robots.txt allow these pages; elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov serves no robots.txt (it is an Amazon S3/CloudFront bucket that answers 403 for every missing object, e.g. a random path; only the public certified-list PDF was fetched); cityofsacramento.gov serves no robots.txt (404). Census TIGERweb/geocoder are public services. No terms accepted, nothing requested, no logins. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded; standsFor null for everyone. Write-in candidates and primary losers excluded.
