Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Monroe County Board of Elections 'Certification of Candidates for the Tuesday, November 3, 2026 General Election', amended as of 10/6/26 9:22 am, signed by Commissioners Jackie Ortiz and Peter D Elder under Election Law §4-112 (10-page image PDF, linked from monroecounty.gov/elections; read page by page). Party = every ballot line as printed; partyShort = the major-party line. Write-ins excluded; primary losers are not on the list.
  • Officeholders: Monroe BOE 'Offices and Office Holders 2026' (dated 3/5/2026) — name, first/last elected, term expiry, ballot lines and enrollment for every federal, state, county and City of Rochester office. Full names are reordered from its 'Last, First' form.
  • City-hall seats: NY-25 Joseph D. Morelle (D/W, sitting) v Virginia E. McIntyre (R/C). SD-56 Jeremy A. Cooney (D/W, sitting) v Orlando Rivera (R/C). AD-137 Demond L. Meeks (D/W, sitting) v Dave Ferris (R/C) v Mercedes Vazquez-Simmons ('Mercedes Simmons Cares' line). Governor: Hochul/Adams (D/W) v Blakeman/Hood (R/C/Vote Affordable). Comptroller (DiNapoli D/W v Hernandez R/C) and Attorney General (James D/W v Komatireddy R/C) are on the ballot but are not recorded as people.
  • Other districts covering the city (Census geocoder, 23 sample points inside the city limits on a 0.02° grid — a sample, not a boundary overlay; TIGERweb rejected the request): SD-55 (Samra G. Brouk D/W, sitting, v Chris Brown R/C) and SD-56; AD-136 (Sarah H. Clark D/W, sitting, v Clianda Florence R/C), AD-137 and AD-138 (Harry B. Bronson D/W, sitting, v Tracy DiFlorio R). Only the city-hall districts are recorded as people, per the brief.
  • Municipal: Mayor and the nine Councilmembers (five At-Large, four district: East, Northeast, Northwest, South) from the Monroe BOE Offices and Office Holders list. Rochester elects no separate city comptroller. Mayor and At-Large seats were last elected November 2025 (terms to 2029); district seats and Commissioners of Schools November 2023 (terms to 2027). Next municipal election: November 2027 (four district Councilmembers). Council leadership (President/Vice President) could not be confirmed because the city site is blocked.
  • Also on the city's 2026 ballot but not recorded as people: Rochester City Court Judge — Maija C. Dixon (Democratic, sole candidate; the sitting judge whose term expires 2026); Monroe County District Attorney — Brian Green (Democratic, sole candidate; listed on the Office Holders list as appointed, term expiring 2026).
  • BLOCKED / not used: www.cityofrochester.gov answers a Cloudflare managed challenge (HTTP 403) even to robots.txt; www.nysenate.gov returns Cloudflare 403 to robots.txt; tigerweb.geo.census.gov answered "Request Rejected". elections.ny.gov was not tried (Cloudflare challenge recorded earlier). None retried with another User-Agent or tool. So no city photos, emails or council-page statements, and no State Senate photo.
  • The Monroe BOE certification prints every candidate's home street address; none were copied. standsFor is set only for Demond L. Meeks, quoted from his official Assembly biography; no official list carries candidate statements. No Ballotpedia, Wikipedia or news used.
