Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and 7 Councilmembers by ward, from the City's Mayor & City Council page (riversideca.gov/council) and the seven ward pages, retrieved 2026-10-22. The charter makes City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk council-appointed, so Mayor + council are the only elected city offices. Official emails recorded only where the ward page shows the member's own riversideca.gov address (Cervantes, Mill); other ward pages list only staff addresses, which are not recorded. Photos linked from the council page; the site's disclaimer is about accuracy and liability and states no reuse licence.
  • City 2026 cycle: Wards 2, 4 and 6 were on the June 2, 2026 primary (a majority wins outright). Riverside County Registrar of Voters 'Final Official Election Results' (voteinfo.net, report dated 6/26/2026): Ward 6 Luis Hernandez won with 50.29%; Ward 2 (Torres 37.99%, Ayra 35.72%) and Ward 4 (Conder 45.63%, Vandenberg 28.34%) go to the November 3 runoff. Candidate names for November come from the City Clerk's 'Official List of Candidates' for the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Runoff Election (updated 9/16/2026). That list prints candidates' phones and emails: no phones recorded; personal-provider emails (aol.com, outlook.com) not recorded; campaign-named addresses kept. standsFor quotes the candidates' own statements, published by the City Clerk. Next municipal election: March 7, 2028 (Mayor and Wards 1, 3, 5, 7), per the City Clerk's elections page.
  • Ward 2 is an open seat: Councilmember Clarissa Cervantes is on the SOS certified list for State Assembly District 58 against incumbent Leticia Castillo. She is recorded once, at the municipal level, as incumbent-running with runningFor State Assembly Member AD-58. Riverside municipal offices are non-partisan: party null / partyShort 'None'.
  • District coverage: 13x13 point grid over the city's bounding box sent to the Census Geocoder (coordinates only, Current_Current and ACS2025_Current vintages); 77 points fell inside Riverside city. 119th Congress: CA-39 (74), CA-41 (3). 2026 (120th) map: CA-39 (77). State Senate: SD-31, SD-32 (same on 2024 and 2026 vintages). Assembly: AD-58, AD-60, AD-63. Ten points failed during a network outage and were re-queried. Slivers narrower than the ~2 km grid spacing could be missed. City Hall's coordinates (33.98095,-117.3755) fall in CA-39, SD-31, AD-58; only City Hall's legislators are listed, per the brief. TIGERweb (tigerweb.geo.census.gov) returned an F5 'Request Rejected' page for robots.txt, so it was not used.
  • Federal: house.gov Directory of Representatives (California 39th and 41st rows) and the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json, both retrieved 2026-10-22 (the session's shared copy). Photos linked from clerk.house.gov. Senators Padilla (term to 2029) and Schiff (term to 2031) come from the CC0 dataset. No U.S. Senate contest is on the 2026 SOS list.
  • Candidates (federal and state): California Secretary of State 'Certified List of Candidates for the November 3, 2026, General Election', certified 2026-08-27, read from the copy fetched in this session (the same public PDF). The list marks state incumbents with '*' but not federal ones. Party preference and ballot designation are as printed. State: Governor Newsom from the Governor's Proclamation (SOS PDF); SD-31 Sabrina Cervantes from senate.ca.gov/senators (odd-numbered Senate districts are not up in 2026); AD-58 Leticia Castillo from assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers.
  • Robots/terms: riversideca.gov and www.riversideca.gov robots.txt allow the council, ward, city clerk and candidate PDF paths (crawl-delay commented out; requests spaced 4-5 s); voteinfo.net, assembly.ca.gov and senate.ca.gov robots allow the pages used; geocoding.geo.census.gov has no robots.txt (404). One User-Agent was used throughout. No terms accepted, no forms, no logins. Write-ins and primary losers are excluded. No street addresses are recorded.
