Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Municipal: Supervisor Jerome Halpin and Council Members Kenneth Rothwell, Joann Waski, Robert 'Bob' Kern and Denise Merrifield from townofriverheadny.gov/244/Town-Board ('Members'), which the home page links as 'Elected Officials — View list of current elected officials', read 2026-10-31. The Town Board is elected town-wide (no wards printed), so seat = 'At-large'. Party not printed on Town pages: null. The page prints the Town Hall phone and a general info@ address — not copied as anyone's email.
- Other Town officers seen but NOT recorded as people (no official page read states they are elected): Town Clerk & Registrar James M. Wooten (/184/Town-Clerk), Highway Superintendent Mike Zaleski and Receiver of Taxes Laurie A. Zaneski (/m/directory). Under New York Town Law these are usually elected offices; confirm on a Town or BOE page before adding.
- Next Town election: New York towns elect in odd years; the Town Board/Supervisor are next up in November 2027 — inferred, not read from a Suffolk BOE calendar (unreachable).
- Candidates — BLOCKED: Suffolk County Board of Elections (www.suffolkcountyny.gov and apps2.suffolkcountyny.gov) robots.txt names ClaudeBot and anthropic-ai with Disallow: / — not fetched. NYS Board of Elections (elections.ny.gov) and nysenate.gov answer a Cloudflare managed challenge (403) even on robots.txt — not bypassed. So NY-1, SD-1 and AD-2 candidates are NOT captured; LaLota, Palumbo and Giglio stay 'elected'. Only the statewide Governor contest is captured, from the NYC Board of Elections contest list (Hochul/Adams D-WF v Blakeman/Hood R-C-Vote Affordable), carried from us-oyster-bay (retrieved 2026-10-22); Suffolk ballot lines for those tickets may differ.
- Districts: Census geocoder at Town Hall (4 W 2nd St): NY-1 (120th Congress), SD-1, AD-2 on the 2026 layers. A 6x6 grid over the town (28 points inside Riverhead town) was all NY-1 / SD-1 / AD-2.
- Sitting members: Senators Schumer and Gillibrand from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json via us-oyster-bay; LaLota from clerk.house.gov MemberData.xml (NY01; elected 2024-11-05), read 2026-11-01; Giglio from nyassembly.gov/mem/Jodi-Giglio, read 2026-11-01; Palumbo flagged unofficial (nysenate.gov not reachable). Governor Hochul per governor.ny.gov via us-nyc/us-oyster-bay.
- Robots/terms: townofriverheadny.gov robots.txt AI-crawler group names ClaudeBot (disallows admin/search/calendar/RSS/FAQ/bids paths only); Crawl-delay 10 honoured. nyassembly.gov (GPTBot only), clerk.house.gov (no robots.txt; 404), geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null for everyone. Write-ins and primary losers excluded.
