Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Municipal: Mayor Shannon Martin and the four district Council Members from https://www.cityofpsl.com/Government/Your-City-Government/Mayor-City-Council and each member's page (robots.txt allows these paths), retrieved 2026-10-22; terms from the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections '2026 Guide to Elected and Appointed Officials' (rev 10-19-2026). The City has a five-member Council (Mayor plus Districts 1-4); 'residents throughout the City vote for every City Council seat, no matter which district'. Elections are non-partisan (City Charter s.5.01, per the City Clerk's page). The charter creates no other city-wide elected office (Clerk, Manager, Attorney, Police Chief are appointed). Official City emails as printed; aides' emails and phones not copied.
- City election 2026: the City Clerk's Elections page (https://www.cityofpsl.com/Government/Your-City-Government/Departments/City-Clerk/Elections) gives Primary Aug. 18, 2026 and General Nov. 3, 2026 for Mayor, District 1 and District 3 and lists the qualified field (Mayor: Shannon Martin, Eric Strazzeri, Steven Giordano, Steven Harrington; District 1: Eric Reikenis, Indony Baptiste, Kevin Zimmerman, Fredric Meltzer; District 3: Fritz Alexandre, Jim Norton, Peter Overhuls). Steven Harrington does not appear on the primary ballot results (not on the ballot; reason not stated on pages read). The SOE 2026 Primary Election Summary Report (100% of precincts) gives the results; with the majority rule printed in the SOE guide this puts Mayor (Martin v. Giordano) and District 1 (Meltzer v. Jean Baptiste) on the Nov 3 ballot and decides District 3 for Jim Norton (52.3%). The SOE voter guide (rev 10/19/2026) lists 'City of Port St. Lucie Mayor' and 'City of Port St. Lucie City Council' among 2026 offices, consistent with this. The official general-election sample ballot was not read (see hosts). Next City election after this: 2028 (Districts 2 and 4, terms expiring November 2028). Also on the city's Nov 3 ballot: a county half-cent sales tax renewal and a non-binding City straw poll on twice-weekly trash pickup (City news, 2026-10-01).
- Candidates (state/federal): Florida Division of Elections Candidate Tracking System, 2026 General Election (elecid 20261103-GEN), County = St. Lucie, Status = ALL (except WIT/DNQ), Office = ALL, retrieved 2026-10-22 (no robots.txt — 404). The Division calls it an 'unofficial reference'; it is the state's own qualifying list. Kept: Qualified for U.S. Senate (special), U.S. House FL-21, Governor (Lt. Governor running mate as printed) and HD-85 (city hall). Dropped: Defeated primary candidates, write-ins (WRI: David Fabrikant FL-21; Kathy Anderson and Erik Morris for Governor; Hunter Stone HD-85; Kyle 'KC' Gibson Agriculture), Cabinet (AG Uthmeier v. J.J. Rodriguez; CFO Ingoglia v. Taddeo; Agriculture Simpson v. Mendoza Atkins), judicial, and HD-84 (covers part of the city: Dana Trabulsy REP *Incumbent v. Jennifer Massey DEM). No State Senate seat in St. Lucie County is on the 2026 ballot. Detail pages were opened only for party as printed (they print addresses and phones; none copied). 'MGT' (Metwally) is not expanded anywhere on the Division's pages read.
- Districts covering the city: city hall coordinates 27.2737, -80.3453 (Census geocoder, Current_Current vintage; https://geocoding.geo.census.gov/geocoder/geographies/coordinates?x=-80.3453&y=27.2737&benchmark=Public_AR_Current&vintage=Current_Current&layers=all) are in the 120th Congressional District 21, 2026 State Senate District 29 and State House District 85. An 18 x 18 grid over 27.12-27.42 N, 80.26-80.56 W (324 points, about 1.9 km spacing) put 95 points in 'Port St. Lucie' (Incorporated Places): CD-21 (95); Senate SD-31 (56) and SD-29 (39); House HD-85 (62) and HD-84 (33). The SOE guide confirms District 21 'Includes all of Martin and St. Lucie County' and that St. Lucie County is in Senate Districts 29 and 31 and House Districts 84 and 85. Only city hall's state seats are recorded as people (SD-31 Gayle Harrell R, term to Nov 2028; HD-84 Dana Trabulsy R, on the 2026 ballot).
- U.S. Senate: only the special election for the Rubio seat is on the 2026 ballot (Moody REP incumbent, Nixon DEM, Gillespie NPA); Rick Scott's seat is not up. Senators from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json, cross-checked with the SOE guide (senate.gov 403s even robots.txt, per us-tampa; not retried). Representative from https://www.house.gov/representatives (robots allows). No federal photos linked.
- State: Governor Ron DeSantis from the SOE guide (term-limited; open seat). flgov.com was NOT fetched (robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot/anthropic-ai/Claude-Web). SD-29 Erin Grall from https://www.flsenate.gov/Senators/s29 (robots allows /Senators/, Crawl-delay 10 honoured — one request). HD-85 Toby Overdorf from the flhouse.gov Representatives list (robots allows); he is not on the 2026 list, so HD-85 is open: Anthony Bonna (REP; the sitting City Council District 3 member), Wayne Richter (DEM), Amr Metwally (MGT).
- Hosts: www.cityofpsl.com (robots.txt read, ~520 Disallow lines; every path fetched was checked and allowed; terms at /Accessibility read first), dos.elections.myflorida.com (no robots.txt), geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt), www.house.gov (allows /representatives), unitedstates.github.io (no robots.txt), www.flsenate.gov (allows, Crawl-delay 10), www.flhouse.gov (allows), www.slcelections.com -> www.stlucievotes.gov (robots.txt 404; no terms page found; the primary results PDF, voter guide and officials guide were fetched without the '?t=' suffix), files.floridados.gov (Azure blob; robots.txt returns HTTP 400 — the Secretary of State's Amended Notice of General Election for St. Lucie County, which lists offices but no candidates, was read). NOT reached: www.voterfocus.com (hosts the SOE's candidate profiles and sample ballot; robots.txt answered HTTP 503 'temporarily unavailable for maintenance' twice, treated as disallowed, not fetched) and library.municode.com (City Charter; Cloudflare challenge even on robots.txt, not bypassed). flgov.com not fetched (robots disallows Claude). One User-Agent throughout: 'ResearchUpon-politics/1.0 (civic research; +https://researchupon.com)'.
- Privacy: no home or mailing addresses, phones or personal emails are recorded (the Division's candidate detail pages print them). Official cityofpsl.com emails only. City photos are linked, not copied. standsFor is null for everyone (no candidate statements read). counts.unopposed = 0 (no one on the St. Lucie list is elected unopposed in the general); Jim Norton (District 3) won at the primary and is counted under running.
