Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Candidates: Peoria County Board of Election Commissioners' certified 2026 General Election specimen ballot (www.peoriaelections.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1454, retrieved 2026-11-01; 'I hereby certify the following specimen ballot is a true copy of the ballot to be used in the General Election to be held in Peoria County, Illinois, November 3, 2026', signed Patrick Jennetten, Chairman). The Board of Election Commissioners is the election authority for the City of Peoria. robots.txt: peoriaelections.gov redirects to www.peoriaelections.gov; a group naming ClaudeBot disallows only admin/search/calendar/RSS-type paths, DocumentCenter allowed; Crawl-delay 10 (default group) honoured. Write-in lines skipped; 'No Candidate' lines not recorded. Raw PDF deleted after reading.
- Statewide and federal candidate rows are the same names already recorded in us-rockford from this same specimen ballot (re-read 2026-11-01, unchanged): U.S. Senate Stratton DEM, Tracy REP, Harrington Jr ACP; Governor & Lt. Governor Pritzker/Mitchell DEM, Bailey/Del Mar REP, Corbett/Schofield IND; IL-16 Nolley DEM v LaHood REP; IL-17 Sorensen DEM v Vancil REP. Attorney General (Raoul v Fioretti), Secretary of State (Giannoulias v Harris), Comptroller (Croke v Drew), Treasurer (Frerichs v Solomon), county offices, judges and referenda are on the ballot but outside the brief.
- Districts: Census Geocoder at City Hall (419 Fulton St) gave Peoria city, IL-17 (120th Congress), SD-46 and HD-92 (2026 layers). A 0.02-degree grid found 43 points inside 'Peoria city': CD-16 (21) and CD-17 (22) — Peoria is split between IL-16 and IL-17 and both are recorded; SD-46 (30), SD-37 (8), SD-44 (4), SD-47 (1); HD-92 (26), HD-73 (8), HD-87 (4), HD-91 (4), HD-93 (1). So at least four Senate and five House districts touch the city; only City Hall's legislators are recorded.
- State: ilga.gov Senate and House member lists (robots.txt: User-agent * disallows /account, /admin, /search, /api only; Crawl-delay 10 honoured; fetched with curl because Python could not verify the site's TLS chain), retrieved 2026-11-01: SD-46 David Koehler (D), HD-92 Jehan Gordon-Booth (D). SD-46 is not on the 2026 Peoria County ballot (only SD-47 and SD-53 are). HD-92: 'Jehan Gordon-Booth DEM / No Candidate REP' — unopposed. Governor/Lt. Governor sitting rows carried from us-rockford (gov.illinois.gov / ltgov.illinois.gov readings by earlier agents).
- Federal officeholders: CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (retrieved 2026-11-01): Durbin (term ends 2027-01-03, retiring; open seat), Duckworth (2029), LaHood (IL-16), Sorensen (IL-17). senate.gov / house.gov not used.
- Municipal: City of Peoria 'Mayor and City Council' page (www.peoriagov.org/157; robots.txt group naming ClaudeBot disallows only admin/search/calendar/CivicAlerts/RSS/FAQ-type paths — /157 and /216 allowed), retrieved 2026-11-01: 'the Mayor (elected city-wide) and five council members who represent their respective districts and five at-large council members who are elected city-wide. These officials serve four-year terms with elections staggered every two years.' Mayor Rita Ali; District 1-5: Denise Jackson, Alex Carmona, Timothy Riggenbach, Andre W. Allen, Denis Cyr; At-Large: John L. Kelly, Zachary M. Oyler, Kiran Velpula, Bernice Gordon-Young, Michael P. Vespa. Council members are also Town (Township) Trustees by virtue of office. Official @peoriagov.org emails as printed; the Clerk's office phone not copied. The 'Elected Officials' page (/216) also lists City Clerk Stefanie Tarr and City Treasurer Jim Montelongo (recorded), and Township Assessor Andrew J. Couri and Township Supervisor LaTrina Leary (City of Peoria Township offices — not recorded).
- City election: none in 2026 — no City of Peoria office is on the November 3, 2026 specimen ballot. City offices are elected at Illinois consolidated elections in odd-numbered years; the next is April 2027 (which seats are up then was not verified on a city page). Party: council seats are non-partisan (party null).
- standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. No web searches used.
