Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Wood County Clerk's official 2026 General Election ballots (woodcountywv.com/files/docs/county-offices/county-clerk/election-voting-information/2026-gen-sample/P_<seq>.pdf; found via web search — the Clerk's Election Information page does not link them). Ballots seq 1-70 were read: Precinct 8 (seq 1) carries the 12th Delegate District and is the record source; Delegate districts 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 appear across the county. Party codes as printed (REP, DEM, LBN, MTN, CST, IND); 'NO CANDIDATE(S) NOMINATED' lines skipped. The ballot prints each candidate's town and county; not copied. Write-in lines skipped. woodcountywv.com robots.txt: '*' disallows only /wp-admin/.
  • WV Secretary of State candidate listing (candidates.wvsos.gov / apps.sos.wv.gov) returned 403 to earlier agents (us-clarksburg, 2026-10-31); not tried again.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at the municipal building gave CD-2, SD-3, Delegate District 12. A 7x7 grid (12 points inside 'Parkersburg city'): CD-2 on all (119th and 2026); SD-3 on all; Delegate districts 13 (6), 12 (5), 11 (1). So at least three delegate districts cover the city: HD-13 is on the ballot as Melissa McCrady REP v Marley Umensetter DEM v James Hendershot Jr IND (ballot seq 54, Precinct 69); HD-11 not read in detail. Only City Hall's HD-12 is recorded.
  • Members: U.S. Senators (Capito, Justice) and Rep. Riley Moore rows carried from us-clarksburg (CC0 legislators file; clerk.house.gov) and re-checked against the CC0 legislators-current.json and house.gov directory ('Moore, Riley', 2nd, R) on 2026-10-31. SD-3 (two senators: Azinger, Barnhart) and HD-12 (Vernon Criss) from wvlegislature.gov Senate and House rosters and member pages (robots: '*' disallows /apps/, /mobile/ etc., not used), with official @wvsenate.gov / @wvhouse.gov emails and linked photos; roster phones and office addresses not copied. Governor Morrisey carried from us-clarksburg (governor.wv.gov).
  • Municipal: NOT recorded. www.parkersburgwv.gov redirects to cms2.revize.com/revize/parkersburg; cms2.revize.com robots.txt allows only document files (/*.pdf, /*.doc …) for '*' and ends 'Disallow: /', so no city HTML page (council, mayor) was read, and no council PDF was found. The Wood County Clerk's 'General Candidate Finance Filings' page lists for 2024 'City of Parkersburg – Mayor: Sherry Dugan, Democrat; Tom Joyce, Republican' and a 'City of Parkersburg – City Council' section — i.e. city offices were last on the November 2024 general ballot; no city contest on any 2026 ballot read. Next city election, inferred: November 2028. Fill the Mayor and council from an official roster when one is reachable.
  • standsFor null for everyone. No phones, addresses or personal emails recorded. Two web searches used for Parkersburg.
