Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • City of Palm Desert: www.palmdesert.gov answered robots.txt with an Akamai "Access Denied" (HTTP 403) and palmdesert.gov redirects there, so the City site was not used. The Riverside County Registrar of Voters (voteinfo.net) robots.txt allows, but every page returned a Cloudflare "Just a moment..." challenge (HTTP 403) — not bypassed. Palm Desert has no Legistar instance (webapi 500) and no Granicus publisher page found.
  • Council: the five members come from the Secretary of State 2026 California Roster, Incorporated City and Town Officials PDF (admin.cdn.sos.ca.gov; robots.txt returned an S3 AccessDenied XML 403, treated as no robots rules; the PDF is linked from www.sos.ca.gov/administration/california-roster, whose robots.txt is empty). The roster lists Mayor Evan Trubee, Vice Mayor/Mayor Pro Tempore Joe Pradetto, and City Council Jan Harnik, Karina Moreno, Gina Nestande, with City Clerk Anthony Mejia; it does not give district numbers. The roster's own "Legislative Districts: CA: 25, SD:32, AD 47" line was not used for districts (the Census geocoder is used instead).
  • 2026 city election: a web search surfaced the City's election page text stating the November 3, 2026 general municipal election elects Districts 4 and 5, completing the move to five districts. That page could not be opened (Akamai), and no official candidate list was reachable, so no city candidates are recorded; news names (e.g. a District 5 candidate) were not used as a source.
  • Candidates (federal and state): California SOS Certified List of Candidates for the November 3, 2026 General Election, certified 2026-08-27 (elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov; the same public PDF read in this session by sibling records). Kept CA-25, Governor and AD-47. No U.S. Senate contest in 2026.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at City Hall (73510 Fred Waring Dr) — Current_Current vintage: CD-25 (120th), SD-19, AD-47; ACS2025_Current vintage: CD-41 (119th), SD-19, AD-47. A 0.02-degree grid gave 18 points inside the city: all CA-25 on the 2026 map, all CA-41 on the 119th map, all SD-19 / AD-47.
  • Federal and statewide rows (Padilla, Schiff, Newsom, Becerra, Hilton, Calvert) reused from us-riverside (2026-10-22: @unitedstates CC0 file, house.gov, SOS proclamation/list). State legislators from senate.ca.gov/senators and assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers, retrieved 2026-10-31 (robots allow).
  • standsFor null for everyone. No addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. One web search used (to find the City election page). One User-Agent throughout.
