Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Municipal: Mayor, four Council Members, City Clerk and City Treasurer from the City Council page (ontarioca.gov/government/city-council) and each member's page, retrieved 2026-10-23. The council page still says 'All Council Members serve at large', but Porada's and Macias's pages say they represent Districts 1 and 4 (elected/seated December 2024), and the City Clerk's Municipal Elections page says 'November 2026: Districts 2 and 3 and Mayor; November 2028: Districts 1 and 4'. Wapner and Bowman hold at-large terms ending December 2026. The only email on the member pages is a staff address (dbell@ontarioca.gov), not recorded. Photos are linked from content.ontarioca.gov and were not fetched.
- City 2026 cycle: November candidates come from the San Bernardino County Registrar 'Candidate List' for the November 3, 2026 General Election (last updated 9/29/2026), cross-checked against the county 'Offices Up For Election' report (last modified 2026-07-10): Mayor (4 on ballot: Daisy Macias, Paul Leon - Incumbent, Nicolo Lalama, Kevin Kizzee), District 2 (Stephanie Martinez, Ruben Valencia), District 3 (Alan Wapner, Larry Trinidad, Michael Rios, D'Andre Lampkin). The City's elections page points to the Registrar for the candidate list and publishes none of its own. California municipal races are non-partisan: party null / partyShort 'None'. The county list prints mailing-address and phone fields; none recorded. standsFor quotes each candidate's own statement in the County Voter Information Guide (VIG.pdf, last modified 2026-10-03, pages 113-117); Lalama filed no statement. Next municipal election: November 2028 (Districts 1 and 4, plus City Clerk and City Treasurer per the City's stated even-year cycle).
- District coverage: 15x15 point grid over -117.70 to -117.52, 33.95 to 34.11 sent to the Census Geocoder (coordinates only; Current_Current and ACS2025_Current vintages). 91 and 92 points fell inside Ontario city (one request errored). CA-35 on both maps; SD-22 at every point; AD-53 82-83 points, AD-50 9 points. City Hall was located at approximately 34.0655,-117.6484 (estimated from the map, not geocoded from a street address), which falls in Ontario city, CA-35, SD-22 and AD-53. Per the brief only City Hall's legislators are listed; AD-50 is not recorded. Slivers narrower than the ~1.2 km grid spacing could be missed.
- Federal: house.gov Directory of Representatives (California 35th row) and the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json, both retrieved 2026-10-23. Senators Padilla (term to 2029) and Schiff (term to 2031) from the CC0 file; no U.S. Senate contest is on the 2026 SOS list.
- Candidates (federal and state): California Secretary of State 'Certified List of Candidates for the November 3, 2026, General Election', dated 27 August 2026. elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov answers 403 to robots.txt, so this agent made NO request to that host; the list was read from a copy another agent fetched earlier in this session (the same public PDF), as the San Bernardino record did. The list marks state incumbents with '*' but not federal ones. State officeholders: Susan Rubio from senate.ca.gov/senators; Michelle Rodriguez from assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers; Governor Newsom from gov.ca.gov/about.
- Robots/terms: ontarioca.gov robots.txt disallows *.pdf, /sites/, /search, /user and /login for all agents (it blocks GPTBot but not ClaudeBot); only HTML pages were fetched (home, privacy policy, council, member and elections pages), and no PDF or /sites/ path. Its Privacy Policy says site content 'is protected by copyright law. Please contact the City regarding the use of City web content and materials.' That restricts reuse: names and offices are facts, and photos are linked, not copied. elections.sbcounty.gov and main.sbcounty.gov robots disallow only /wp-admin/ and calendar query strings; the county policy page holds privacy and disclaimer text with no reuse restriction. uploads.rov.sbcounty.gov, geocoding.geo.census.gov and unitedstates.github.io have no robots.txt (404). house.gov, senate.ca.gov, assembly.ca.gov and gov.ca.gov robots allow the pages used. gov.ca.gov Conditions of Use: information is 'in general ... considered in the public domain'; photographs may need permission. Two slips: the gov.ca.gov About page was fetched just before its Conditions of Use were read (after its robots.txt), and the ontarioca.gov home page was fetched before its Privacy Policy, to find the policy link after five guessed terms paths returned 404. One User-Agent throughout; no terms accepted, no forms, no logins. Write-ins and primary losers are excluded. No street addresses are recorded.
