Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Florida Division of Elections Candidate Tracking System, 2026 General Election (elecid 20261103-GEN), County = Marion, Status = ALL (except WIT/DNQ), Office = ALL, retrieved 2026-10-31 (no robots.txt — 404). Kept Qualified/Unopposed for U.S. Senate, FL-3, Governor (with running mates) and HD-21 (City Hall). Dropped: Defeated (primary losers), write-ins (WRI), Cabinet, judicial, and other Marion legislative seats (HD-20 Butler v. Sapp, HD-23 Baker v. Grow, HD-24 Chamberlin unopposed, HD-27 Ferrari v. Gentry; FL-6 Fine/Yonce/Parrott, which covers other parts of Marion County, not Ocala). Candidate detail pages (which print addresses) not opened.
  • Districts: City Hall geocodes to CD-3, SD-9, HD-21 (Census geocoder, '120th Congressional Districts' and '2026 State Legislative Districts' layers). Census relationship file tab20_cd11920_place20_st12.txt: Ocala city lies wholly in the current FL-3. A 0.02-degree grid gave 33 points inside Ocala city: all CD-3 and SD-9; House Districts 21 (11 points) and 24 (22 points). HD-24 is Ryan Chamberlin (REP), unopposed for 2026 per the Division list; only the City Hall seat is listed as people.
  • Municipal: www.ocalafl.gov answered robots.txt with an Akamai 'Access Denied' (HTTP 403), so the city site was not used. The Marion County Supervisor of Elections (www.votemarion.gov) answered robots.txt with a Cloudflare 'Attention Required' challenge — not used. Council members come from the City of Ocala's own Legistar (ocala.legistar.com; no robots.txt, 404), City Council body page, retrieved 2026-10-31: Mayor plus five council members with Legistar titles and dates (the dates appear to be officer terms, not electoral terms). Official ocalafl.gov emails as printed. Seat numbers are not printed there; District 1/3/5 come from news (WCJB 2025-07-18, 'Candidates successfully qualify for Ocala special election') and are marked as such.
  • City elections: Ocala ran a 2025 special municipal election (Sept 16, 2025) for Mayor and Districts 1, 3 and 5 after all candidates were disqualified over qualifying-fee payment (news: WCJB, Ocala News, Ocala Gazette). Districts 2 and 4 would be the next seats due; no official page could be reached to confirm a 2026 or 2027 date or candidates. theballotbrief.com claims Ocala City races on the 2026-11-03 ballot without names — unverified, not used.
  • Federal officeholders from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (unitedstates.github.io: no robots.txt). Senators Scott and Moody; Rep. Kat Cammack (FL-3). Governor DeSantis row reused from the 2026-10-15 jacksonville reading (flgov.com disallows Claude agents). State legislators from flsenate.gov (robots allows; Crawl-delay 10 honoured) and flhouse.gov Representatives list (robots allows).
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. Legistar also lists a non-council person with a law-firm email; not used. standsFor null for everyone. Ballotpedia and Wikipedia not used; one web search (news) used only to find seat numbers and the city election history.
  • Hosts and one User-Agent throughout: 'ResearchUpon-politics/1.0 (civic research; +https://researchupon.com)'.
