Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Scope: the /local record is "North Bend-Coos Bay, Oregon" but its Census geography is North Bend city (place 4153000), so the municipal rows are City of North Bend only. Coos Bay (City Council, Mayor Joe Benetti per a pamphlet endorsement list) is not recorded; its candidate certification is on the same Coos County page if wanted.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at North Bend City Hall (CD-4, SD-5, HD-9) and a 5x5 grid (11 points inside "North Bend city") on the Current (120th / 2026) and ACS2025 (119th / 2024) vintages: all points in CD-4, SD-5, HD-9 on both.
  • Candidates: Oregon SOS 2026 General Election Voters' Pamphlet Book 1 (Coos, Curry, Douglas), List of Candidates (p. 26) and statements; Coos County Elections' November 3, 2026 General Election page (which says city and district candidates do not appear in the State pamphlet) for county and city candidates. North Bend's certified candidate notice (scanned PDF, read from its image) prints each candidate's home address and phone: not copied. Oregon fusion: party as first listed, full list in ballotParty on carried rows. Write-ins excluded.
  • Sitting members: SD-5 Dick Anderson (R) and HD-9 Boomer Wright (R) from oregonlegislature.gov member lists (official emails kept; Capitol phones not copied). Hoyle (OR-4), Wyden, Merkley, Kotek and all statewide/OR-4 candidates carried from us-eugene.
  • Municipal roster NOT read: both www.northbendoregon.us and www.northbendoregon.gov robots.txt name ClaudeBot and anthropic-ai with Disallow: / (Content-Signal ai-train=no) — honoured, no page fetched. Search-index text (not fetched) of the city site says Mayor Jessica Engelke was elected November 2024 with the term expiring November 2026, and lists councilors including Larry Garboden, Barbara Schultz, "Jenny" (terms expiring November 2026) and Matt Hamilton (appointed June 2023); those sitting councilors are not entered as rows because the roster could not be read. North Bend's mayor serves 2-year terms and councilors 4-year terms (certified notice). Next North Bend election after this: November 2028 (mayor and the other council seats) — inferred.
  • Not recorded as people: Coos County Clerk and Sheriff (listed above), Central Lincoln PUD and Coos SWCD directors.
  • Robots/terms: cooscounty-or.specialdistrict.org (* Allow: /), sos.oregon.gov (allowed path), www.oregonlegislature.gov (allowed), geocoding.geo.census.gov (404). Blocked by robots (ClaudeBot / anthropic-ai Disallow: /): www.northbendoregon.us and www.northbendoregon.gov. www.co.coos.or.us robots.txt answered a 302 redirect; not pursued (the county elections content is on the specialdistrict.org host). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded.
