Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: Census geocoder at City Hall (CD-4, SD-3, AD-4) and an 8x8 grid over the city (22 points inside "Napa city") on the Current (120th / 2026) and ACS2025 (119th / 2024) vintages: every point in CD-4, SD-3 and AD-4 on both. Slivers below the ~1 km grid spacing could be missed.
  • Candidates (state and federal): the Napa County Election Division (www.napacounty.gov, Qualified List of Candidates) answers a Cloudflare "Attention Required" 403 even to robots.txt, so it was not read; the CA SOS certified list host was also not used (robots 403 per the Santa Rosa run). CA-4 and AD-4 both cross into Sonoma County, so their contests were read from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters' "Candidates on the Ballot" page (read 2026-10-31, Crawl-delay 10 honoured): CA-4 ERIC JONES (Democratic, Businessman/Nonprofit Executive), MIKE THOMPSON (Democratic, Member of Congress); AD-4 CECILIA M. AGUIAR-CURRY (Democratic, State Assemblymember) only. Statewide Governor contest identical in every county. Write-ins excluded. counts.unopposed = AD-4 and Council District 1.
  • City election: City of Napa Clerk's "Candidate Information — Final Listing as of August 7, 2026" (www.cityofnapa.org DocumentCenter 15882). It prints candidates' street addresses and phones: not copied; campaign websites and campaign-named emails kept. Napa elects an at-large Mayor and four district councilmembers to four-year terms (City Council page: "The next election will be November 3, 2026"). Next after this: November 2028 (Mayor, Districts 2 and 4, terms expiring December 2028).
  • Municipal roster: City Council page (cityofnapa.org/251) read 2026-10-31: Mayor Scott Sedgley (At-Large, term expires December 2028), Vice Mayor Christopher DeNatale (D1, Dec 2026), Beth Painter (D2, Dec 2028), Mary Luros (D3, Dec 2026), Bernie Narvaez (D4, Dec 2028). Official @cityofnapa.org emails decoded from the page's own Cloudflare email-protection markup; phones and mailing addresses not copied. City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk are appointed by the Council (page text), so no other city-wide elected office. Non-partisan: party null.
  • Sitting members: Thompson (CA-4) from house.gov/representatives; Cabaldon (SD-3) from senate.ca.gov/senators; Aguiar-Curry (AD-4) from assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers, all 2026-10-31. Senators Padilla and Schiff, Governor Newsom and the Governor candidates carried from us-santa-rosa (CC0 @unitedstates list; gov.ca.gov).
  • Not recorded: Napa County supervisors and officers, school/college boards, judges, measures. standsFor null for everyone (the Sonoma county guide statements were not read for this city). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded.
  • Robots/terms: www.cityofnapa.org (robots group naming ClaudeBot disallows admin/search/calendar/RSS-type paths only; the * group's Crawl-delay 10 was honoured), socovotes.com (Crawl-delay 10 honoured), www.senate.ca.gov and www.assembly.ca.gov (Drupal default; allowed), www.house.gov (allowed), geocoding.geo.census.gov (404). Blocked, not bypassed: www.napacounty.gov (Cloudflare 403 on robots.txt).
