Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis and the seven district council members from the City of Mobile Mayor page, City Council page, the seven district pages (www.cityofmobile.gov/city-council/district-1..7) and the Council Committee Assignments page (President C.J. Small, Vice President Gina Gregory), retrieved 2026-10-22. The 2025 results come from the City Clerk's scanned Official Report of the General Municipal Election of August 26, 2025 (run 2025-09-02) and of the General Run-Off of September 23, 2025 (run 2025-09-30), read by eye, and the City's 2025 Municipal Election Candidates list (personal campaign emails on that list were NOT copied). Mobile has no other city-wide elected office. Elections are non-partisan; party null. Next regular municipal election: August 2029 (four-year cycle from 2025; date not yet published).
  • Districts: TIGER/Line www2.census.gov 2026 place (Mobile city, GEOID 0150000), 2026 cd120, 2025 cd119, 2026 sldu and sldl for Alabama, intersected in EPSG:5070; City Hall point (-88.0437, 30.6894) also run through the Census geocoder (State Senate District 33, State House District 97, 120th CD 1). 2026 map: AL-1 covers 100% of the city. 119th map (sitting members): AL-2 266.7 km2, AL-1 229.3 km2 of 495.9 km2; City Hall in AL-2. State Senate districts covering the city: 33, 35, 34, 22 (4). State House districts: 97, 105, 103, 99, 101, 104, 100, 98 (8). Only City Hall's SD-33 and HD-97 are recorded as people, per the brief.
  • Candidates: the Mobile County 'Official Ballot, General, Constitutional Amendment and Special Election, November 3, 2026' sample ballot (SOS copy at /sites/default/files/sample-ballots/2026/gen/Mobile-Sample.pdf, and the same InDesign file posted by Mobile County Probate Court at probate.mobilecountyal.gov/uploads/Mobile-SampleBallot.pdf; both read 2026-10-22), cross-checked against the Secretary of State's State Certifications of Republican, Democratic and Independent Candidates (each signed by Wes Allen 2026-08-26; scanned images read by eye). The Republican Party's later amended certification (2026-08-28, text PDF) only adds Allen Treadaway, HD-51 (Jefferson County). The independent certification lists SD-10, SD-21, HD-7, HD-35 and HD-65 only, none in Mobile. No minor party is certified. Write-ins skipped; primary losers excluded.
  • Races captured: U.S. Senate — Barry Moore (R; sitting AL-1 member), Everett Wess (D); Governor — Tommy Tuberville (R; sitting U.S. Senator), Doug Jones (D); AL-1 — Jerry Carl (R), Clyde Jones (D); SD-33 — Vivian Davis Figures (D, inc., unopposed); HD-97 — Adline C. Clarke (D, inc., unopposed). Shomari Figures (sitting AL-2) is the certified Democratic nominee for AL-2, a race not on Mobile's ballot under the 2026 map; his opponent is not recorded. Tuberville and Barry Moore each have one row, with the new office in runningFor.
  • Sitting U.S. Representatives from https://www.house.gov/representatives (Alabama table), retrieved 2026-10-22; Senators' full names and terms from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json. senate.gov was not requested (BRIEF-SOURCES/Huntsville record: Akamai 403 even on robots.txt). No federal photos linked.
  • State officeholders: no Legislature roster was read (alison.legislature.state.al.us loads rosters by script, per BRIEF-SOURCES); SD-33 and HD-97 holders come from the State Canvassing Board's certified Final Canvass of the November 8, 2022 general (text layer) and are marked "unofficial": true. Governor from governor.alabama.gov (robots: Disallow empty).
  • counts: elected = people currently in office (incl. incumbent-running); running = people on the 2026 certified list/sample ballot (incl. incumbent-running); unopposed = SD-33 and HD-97 (only a write-in line opposite).
  • Robots/terms: cityofmobile.org redirects to cityofmobile.gov (robots disallows /components, /2008, /inc, /tools, /webrequests, /enumerations, /calendar_events.php; pages used were /government/, /city-council/ and /uploads/; only a privacy policy, no reuse terms), sos.alabama.gov (Drupal robots; /alabama-votes and /sites/default/files allowed; no terms page found), house.gov (Drupal robots, allows), governor.alabama.gov (Yoast, Disallow empty), www2.census.gov (no rule for general agents), geocoding.geo.census.gov (robots.txt 404), unitedstates.github.io (robots.txt 404; CC0), mobilecountyal.gov (robots.txt path returns the home page, no rules), probate.mobilecountyal.gov (robots.txt path redirects to a 404 page; its 'Terms and Conditions' cover SMS opt-in only). The probate elections index page was opened before its terms page was found; the terms impose nothing on reading. Nothing was blocked.
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (only official council office emails; City Hall coordinates used for the geocoder). standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). Wikipedia, Ballotpedia and news were not used.
