Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and six aldermen (all at-large; North Dakota city council, NDCC 40-08) from https://www.minotnd.gov/252/City-Council, retrieved 2026-10-31; official @minotnd.gov emails from each member's Staff Directory entry (Directory.aspx?EID=…); directory pages print phones — not copied. Terms as printed: Jantzer (Mayor), Podrygula (President), MacMartin (Vice-President), Locken June 2026 - June 2030; Blessum, Samuelson June 2024 - June 2028; Fuller November 2024 - June 2028. Council page: "One-half (½) of the elected aldermen shall be elected biennially at the regular city election"; Mayor four-year term from the fourth Tuesday in June. Minot's 2026 city election was the June 9, 2026 primary-day election (already held). Next city election: June 2028 (three aldermen) — inferred from the printed terms, not from an official 2028 calendar.
  • Candidates: North Dakota Secretary of State, 2026 General Election Contest/Candidate List (vip.sos.nd.gov/candidatelist.aspx?eid=348, ASP.NET form posted with the page's own view state, no login/CAPTCHA), Statewide and Legislative jurisdictions, retrieved 2026-10-31. The list prints mailing addresses (several are home addresses) and phones, and Cloudflare-obfuscated emails — none copied; only campaign websites kept. Party as printed ("Democratic-NPL" → partyShort Democratic; "independent nomination" → Independent). Write-ins skipped. Other statewide contests are listed in election.elects but not recorded as people.
  • Districts: Census geocoder (robots 404) at City Hall: ND at-large; 2026 State Senate District 3 / State House District 3. Other legislative districts also cover parts of Minot (the city was not grid-sampled this session); only City Hall's District 3 is recorded. District 3 is odd-numbered and up in 2026.
  • Sitting members: Fedorchak from house.gov/representatives (robots allows); Senators Hoeven and Cramer from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (senate.gov not used). District 3 legislators from ndlegis.gov members-by-district and /biography pages (official @ndlegis.gov emails; photos linked). Rep. Jeff Hoverson and Rep. Lori VanWinkle are not on the 2026 general list for District 3. Governor from governor.nd.gov (party not printed there).
  • Not recorded: Ward County offices, Minot Public Schools board, judges. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read).
