Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Minnesota Secretary of State's official 2026 general-election media files on electionresultsfiles.sos.mn.gov (robots.txt 404 = no rules), retrieved 2026-11-01: ussenate.txt, ushouse.txt, stsenate.txt, allracesbycounty.txt (Governor & Lt Governor, State Representative). Pre-election files carry placeholder vote/precinct numbers — only candidate names, offices and party codes were used. Party codes as printed (DFL, R, LIB, IND, GP); DFL mapped to partyShort 'Democratic'. Write-in lines skipped. Secretary of State, State Auditor and Attorney General are on the ballot but not listed as people (brief scope).
  • Other legislative seats covering the city (not listed as people, city hall rule): SD-49 — sitting Sen. Steve A. Cwodzinski (DFL, per mnsenate.gov) is not on the ballot; Krish Subrahmanian (DFL), Dustin R. DuFault (R) and Kris Babler (IND) are. HD-49A — Alex Falconer (DFL) v Jeff Houdek (R).
  • Districts: Census geocoder at city hall (14600 Minnetonka Blvd) gives MN-3, SD-45, HD-45B. A 6x6 grid (30 points inside 'Minnetonka city'): MN-3 30/30; SD-45/HD-45B 17, SD-49/HD-49A 13.
  • Municipal: www.minnetonkamn.gov answers robots.txt with an Akamai 'Access Denied' (HTTP 403) — not retried, so no city roster, emails or photos. Mayor and the two at-large members come from the SOS 2025 municipal results file (20251104/local.txt): Mayor Rebecca Schack 59.01% first choice; At-Large Seat A Deb Calvert 94.20%; At-Large Seat B Kimberly Wilburn 67.47% — each an outright first-choice majority under Minnetonka's ranked-choice voting, so the result is clear without the city's RCV tabulation. The four WARD seats were last elected 2023-11-07 (20231107/local.txt) with no first-choice majority in Wards 1, 3 and 4, so the RCV winners cannot be read from the state file; and Schack (Ward 2, 65.33% in 2023) has since become Mayor. Ward members are NOT recorded. For the coordinator to verify when the city site can be read: a web search showing minnetonkamn.gov page titles named Patsy Foster-Bolton (Ward 1; 2026 acting mayor), Amanda Maxwell (Ward 2; appointed March 2026 to Schack's vacancy, term to Jan. 3, 2028) and Paula Ramaley (Ward 3); no Ward 4 member was named. Unverified, not used as a source.
  • City elections: Minnetonka elects in odd years (no Minnetonka city office in the SOS 2026 local file — only Minnetonka Beach and Tonka Bay, separate cities). Next: November 2027 (the four ward seats elected 2023 on four-year terms, incl. Ward 2) — inferred from the 2023/2025 cycle, not from a city calendar.
  • Federal: Senators from the CC0 legislators-current.json; MN-3 from house.gov/representatives (robots allows). State: Governor Walz and Lt Governor Flanagan from mn.gov/governor/about (mn.gov robots 'Visit-time: 0000-1200' GMT — fetched at about 09:55 GMT, inside the window); SD-45 from mnsenate.gov/api/members (senate.mn redirects there; robots.txt 404); HD-45B from house.mn.gov/members/list (robots disallows /Fiscal2/ only). Official legislative emails only; Capitol phones and office addresses not copied.
  • standsFor null for everyone. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. One User-Agent throughout.
