Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Minnesota Secretary of State's MyBallotMN sample-ballot service (myballotmn.sos.mn.gov; robots.txt 404). Its JSON (/api/PollingPlaceData) returns the official ballot for a precinct. City hall is not a residential address range in MyBallotMN, so the ballot was read for the nearest listed range in precinct MINNEAPOLIS W-3 P-12, which the same data puts in SD 59 / HD 59B / CD 5 — the same districts the Census geocoder gives for city hall. Retrieved 2026-10-22. Write-in lines skipped. Party designations as printed in capitals (DEMOCRATIC-FARMER-LABOR, REPUBLICAN, LIBERTARIAN, GREEN, INDEPENDENT); party stored in title case and DFL mapped to partyShort 'Democratic' (the DFL is Minnesota's Democratic Party affiliate).
  • Recorded as people: U.S. Senate, MN-5, Governor/Lt Governor tickets (one row per person), SD-59 and HD-59B. On the ballot but NOT recorded as people (per brief scope): Secretary of State (Simon DFL, Jude R, Kuhl-Stennes Green, Tangen Libertarian), State Auditor (Filipovich DFL, Jensen R, Reeves Forward Independence), Attorney General (Ellison DFL, Schutz R), Hennepin County offices, school board and judicial seats.
  • www.sos.mn.gov (candidate filing search, election pages, terms of use) redirects every page to a Radware bot-manager CAPTCHA (validate.perfdrive.com) — not bypassed. electionresults.sos.mn.gov redirected robots.txt to a minnesotaitservices.mn.gov page (HTTP 303) — treated as unreachable.
  • Congressional / legislative coverage: TIGERweb rejected requests ('Request Rejected'), so coverage was sampled with the Census geocoder's coordinates endpoint on an 8x6 grid over the city's bounding box: 28 of 48 points fell in Minneapolis city, all 28 in Congressional District 5; Senate districts 59, 60, 61, 62, 63; House districts 59A, 59B, 60A, 60B, 61A, 61B, 62A, 62B, 63A, 63B. Hennepin County's 'Offices on the ballot' page (updated 2026-09-02) is consistent (CDs 3, 5, 6 county-wide; SD 59-63 among the county's). Coarse sample — a sliver district could be missed. Only city hall's SD-59 and HD-59B members are recorded.
  • Federal sitting members: house.gov/representatives (robots allows) for MN-5; senate.gov returned HTTP 403 even for robots.txt, so Senators Klobuchar (term to 2031-01-03) and Smith (to 2027-01-03) come from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json. Klobuchar's Senate seat is not up; she is on the ballot for Governor, recorded as incumbent-running with runningFor 'Governor'. Smith's class-2 seat is up but she is not a candidate. No federal photos linked.
  • State: Governor Tim Walz from the Legislative Reference Library executive-orders database (latest order 26-11 signed 2026-10-01) because mn.gov's robots.txt sets 'Visit-time: 0000-1200' (GMT) and this pass ran at about 19:20 GMT — honoured, mn.gov not fetched; re-read mn.gov/governor inside that window to add his official page and to confirm the sitting Lieutenant Governor (reported to be Peggy Flanagan, who is recorded here only as a U.S. Senate candidate). SD-59 from the Minnesota Senate's own member feed (senate.mn/api/members; robots.txt 404); HD-59B from house.mn.gov/members/list (robots disallows /Fiscal2/ only). Official legislative emails only; Capitol phone numbers not copied.
  • Municipal: Mayor and the 13 ward Council Members from minneapolismn.gov (robots.txt 404), retrieved 2026-10-22; emails are the official minneapolismn.gov addresses printed on each ward page. Party left null: Minneapolis prints party designations on its municipal ballots, but the council pages do not, and 2025 results were not read. The two elected Board of Estimate and Taxation members (citywide, Charter Art. V) from the city's BET page. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (9 elected commissioners incl. 3 at-large) is also elected citywide/by district, but minneapolisparks.org returned HTTP 403 for robots.txt — not recorded.
  • Next City of Minneapolis municipal election: November 2029 (Mayor, 13 Council Members, BET elected members, Park Board — four-year terms; the ward pages for Wards 5, 7, 8 and 11 say those members were elected in 2025). Inferred from the four-year cycle and from vote.minneapolismn.gov's 2026 'What's on the ballot' page, which lists no city offices; not confirmed on a dated city election calendar.
  • Hosts and terms: myballotmn.sos.mn.gov, minneapolismn.gov, vote.minneapolismn.gov, senate.mn, geocoding.geo.census.gov, unitedstates.github.io (robots.txt 404 = no rules); house.gov, house.mn.gov, hennepincounty.gov, lrl.mn.gov (robots read, paths used are allowed). Procedural slip recorded honestly: vote.minneapolismn.gov's home page was fetched once in a batch with other city pages before its robots.txt was requested; robots.txt was then read (404, no rules). minneapolismn.gov's terms reserve all rights in text and images — photos are linked only. Blocked: www.sos.mn.gov (Radware CAPTCHA), electionresults.sos.mn.gov (303), senate.gov (403), tigerweb.geo.census.gov (rejected), minneapolisparks.org (403).
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded; candidate campaign websites are as printed on the SOS ballot data. standsFor left null for everyone.
