Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor, City Attorney, City Comptroller, City Treasurer and the 15 alderpersons from the City of Milwaukee's own Legistar system (webapi.legistar.com/v1/milwaukee — bodies, officerecords, persons; no robots.txt, 404), retrieved 2026-10-22. Common Council = body 1; current office records (end date >= today) give exactly 15 members, terms 2024-04-16 to 2028-04-17 (District 3 Alex Brower seated 2025-04-04). Citywide officers identified by their Legistar office titles on ex officio boards (Mayor, City Attorney, Comptroller, 'Member - Treasurer'), all with terms 2024-04-16 to 2028-04-17. Names from Legistar PersonFirstName/PersonLastName. Emails are official milwaukee.gov addresses only where Legistar lists one. Milwaukee municipal offices are non-partisan.
  • city.milwaukee.gov (Common Council pages, Election Commission, primary results PDF) returned a Cloudflare 'Just a moment...' challenge (HTTP 403) to curl and to WebFetch, including robots.txt — not bypassed. No city photos linked.
  • Congressional districts covering the city: Census TIGERweb polygon for Milwaukee city (place 5553000) sampled on a 150x150 grid (11,014 points inside the city) against the 120th Congress districts (layer 54): WI-4 11,004 points, WI-5 10 (northwest edge). City hall (200 E Wells St) is WI-4, SD-7, AD-19 in the Census geocoder (2026 state legislative layers). The city is covered by 7 Senate districts (4, 6, 3, 7, 21, 5, 8 by area share) and 16 Assembly districts (12, 11, 21, 17, 9, 16, 19, 18, 7, 8, 10, 61, 14, 20, 24, 13); only city hall's are recorded as people.
  • U.S. Representatives from house.gov/representatives (Wisconsin table, retrieved 2026-10-22). senate.gov returned HTTP 403 even for robots.txt — Senators Tammy Baldwin (term to 2031-01-03) and Ron Johnson (to 2029-01-03) taken from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json. No Wisconsin U.S. Senate seat is on the 2026 ballot. No federal photos linked.
  • State: Governor from evers.wi.gov; Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez from evers.wi.gov/ltgov (photo linked). SD-7 (Chris Larson) and AD-19 (Ryan Clancy) from docs.legis.wisconsin.gov 2025 member lists (robots allows /legislators). Official legislative emails only; Madison office phones not copied.
  • Candidates: the Wisconsin Elections Commission (elections.wi.gov — robots.txt was served once, then every page incl. candidate tracking returned a Cloudflare challenge), MyVote Wisconsin (myvote.wi.gov) and the Milwaukee County Election Commission (county.milwaukee.gov) all blocked this client (HTTP 403 Cloudflare) — not bypassed. The Milwaukee-specific contests (WI-4, WI-5, SD-7, AD-19) therefore have NO candidates recorded; the sitting members are 'elected' only, without a running status. Statewide Governor/Lieutenant Governor tickets were read from Dane County Clerk's official 'What's on the Ballot (Dane County) – November 3, 2026' (PDF created 2026-09-11), which lists WEC-certified candidates; statewide contests are identical on Milwaukee ballots. Its preamble says 'November 5th' — a misprint of November 3. Party codes as printed (REP, DEM). Only the Governor/Lt Governor contest is recorded as candidates, per the brief; Attorney General, Secretary of State and State Treasurer contests are on the ballot but not listed as people, except Ald. JoCasta Zamarripa (District 8), a sitting officeholder recorded as incumbent-running for Secretary of State.
  • News (WUWM, Wisconsin Examiner) reports WI-4 as Gwen Moore (DEM) vs Tim Rogers (REP) and independent Arthur Burks, and WI-5 as Scott Fitzgerald (REP) vs Andy Beck (DEM) — NOT recorded, because no official list could be read. Re-run once elections.wi.gov or county.milwaukee.gov is reachable.
  • Next City of Milwaukee municipal election (Mayor, City Attorney, Comptroller, Treasurer, all 15 alderpersons; non-partisan): the spring election of April 4, 2028 (first Tuesday in April; primary February 15, 2028), consistent with the Legistar terms ending 2028-04-17. Dates follow Wisconsin's statutory spring-election calendar and could not be confirmed on the city's Election Commission site (blocked). No City of Milwaukee offices are on the 2026-11-03 ballot.
  • Robots/terms: webapi.legistar.com and milwaukee.legistar.com (no robots.txt; no terms stated), house.gov (allows), tigerweb/geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots), docs.legis.wisconsin.gov (allows legislator pages), evers.wi.gov (no robots.txt), elections.countyofdane.com (Disallow /Account only), unitedstates.github.io (CC0). Blocked: city.milwaukee.gov, county.milwaukee.gov, elections.wi.gov, myvote.wi.gov (Cloudflare), senate.gov (403).
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (Dane County's registration .docx lists candidates' municipalities of residence — not copied). standsFor left null for everyone.
