Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and six Commissioners (Groups 1-6, all elected city-wide) from each member's page under https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/staff/ (linked from the home page), retrieved 2026-10-31. Official @miamibeachfl.gov emails and portrait URLs (linked) from those pages; phone numbers and aides' contacts not copied. Miami Beach municipal elections are non-partisan: party null.
  • City elections (City Clerk, https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/city-hall/city-clerk/election-information/): the 'November 3, 2026: Special Election' page lists an Official Sample Ballot for the Miami Beach Special Election, a Notice of Special Election, and 'First Amendment to the Agreement of Lease between the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH and RK RIVANI LLC' with related resolutions — a ballot question, no offices. The sample ballot and notice are PDFs, which www.miamibeachfl.gov robots.txt disallows ('Disallow: /*.pdf$'), so their wording was not read. Next City general election: November 2, 2027 (page 'November 2, 2027: General Election', candidate list 'TBA'); the Mayor and Group 3 were re-elected November 2025, Group 5 (Suarez) was elected November 7, 2023.
  • Candidates: Florida Division of Elections Candidate Tracking System (no robots.txt), 2026 General Election, read 2026-10-31 — the full statewide list (status ALL except WIT/DNQ) and a Miami-Dade, U.S. Representative, Qualified query that confirms FL-24 through FL-28 touch Miami-Dade (FL-25: Hamilton (WRI), Jassenoff (LPF), Moskowitz (DEM), Singer (REP)). Kept: Qualified candidates; dropped: 'Defeated' primary candidates and write-ins (WRI: Kathy Anderson / Daniel Nokovich and Erik Morris / LeRoy Alaways for Governor; Michaelangelo Hamilton for FL-25). NPA recorded with partyShort Independent. Party as printed on the CanDetail pages was not opened; party labels expanded from the list's codes (REP/DEM/LPF/NPA).
  • SD-34 also covers part of the city (Census grid: SD-34 42 of 64 points, SD-36 22 of 64, City Hall in SD-36). SD-34 is on the 2026 ballot: Ashley Viola Gantt (DEM, primary Won) vs Elizabeth Jeanty (REP, primary Unopposed), both Qualified, no '*Incumbent' mark — noted here, not recorded as people (only City Hall's districts are in scope).
  • Districts: Census geocoder (robots 404) at City Hall: 120th CD-25, SD-36, HD-106 (2026 layers). 10x10 grid over 25.76-25.88 N, 80.15-80.115 W (86 points inside 'Miami Beach city'): CD-25 64/64 on the 120th layer and CD-24 22/22 on the 119th; HD-106 on every point. So the city is in FL-24 today and FL-25 for the 2026 election.
  • Sitting members: FL-24 Wilson from house.gov/representatives; senators from the CC0 legislators-current.json (senate.gov not used). State legislators' incumbency rests on the Division of Elections '*Incumbent' mark (flagged unofficial; flsenate.gov / flhouse.gov not read). Governor DeSantis carried from earlier Florida records (flgov.com's robots disallows ClaudeBot, per us-fort-lauderdale).
  • Robots/terms: www.miamibeachfl.gov robots.txt disallows /*.pdf$, /?s= and /search/ for '*' (no AI-crawler group) — only HTML pages were read; dos.elections.myflorida.com and geocoding.geo.census.gov have no robots.txt; house.gov allows /representatives. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null for everyone (the City's member pages are official biographies, not campaign statements).
