Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Federal/state candidates come from the Texas Secretary of State Election Results site for the 2026 November General Election (electionresults.sos.state.tx.us/results.html, page title 'Election Results - Tuesday, November 3, 2026', 'Updated 10/14/2026 07:34 AM'). It lists every federal and state race with its candidates, with (I) marking incumbents, before polls open. robots.txt on that host returns 404 (no rules). This is a separate SOS host, not the robots-disallowed candidate site goelect.txelections.civixapps.com, which was not touched. Write-in lines skipped. Names are title-cased from the all-caps listing and ballotName keeps the printed form. Parties are as printed there (REPUBLICAN / DEMOCRATIC / LIBERTARIAN).
  • Lubbock County Elections (www.votelubbock.org) answers robots.txt itself with an AWS WAF 'Human Verification' CAPTCHA page (HTTP 405) for this User-Agent, 2026-10-22. Not retried and not bypassed, so the official Lubbock County sample ballot could not be read. County races and any city or school propositions on the 3 Nov ballot are not captured, apart from the one county race printed on the SOS listing (Criminal District Attorney, Lubbock County: K. Sunshine Stanek (I), Republican, no opponent listed; not added as a person row because county offices are out of scope).
  • www.lubbockcounty.gov robots.txt allows general paths but sets Crawl-delay: 300. robots.txt was fetched twice within seconds (the second time to save it) before the delay was known. After that only the homepage was fetched, about 5.5 minutes later. The homepage links no election pages (Elections is on votelubbock.org), so nothing more was read there.
  • Municipal: the City of Lubbock site (ci.lubbock.tx.us, which 301-redirects to www.mylubbock.us, hosted by CivicPlus) returns a Cloudflare 'Sorry, you have been blocked' page to robots.txt itself for this User-Agent, 2026-10-22. Not retried. lubbock.legistar.com has no Lubbock tenant ('Invalid parameters!'). No other official source for the Mayor and the six district Council Members was reachable, so NO municipal rows are included, and whether the City has any item on the 3 Nov 2026 ballot is unverified. Lubbock normally holds its city general elections in May, not November (not verified on an official page this run). The next municipal election date could not be confirmed. Re-run the municipal block from mylubbock.us when it is reachable.
  • U.S. Senators: Cornyn and Cruz from the Texas Legislative Council Who Represents Me? service (rws.capitol.texas.gov/api/GetSenators; robots 404). The service prints no party; Republican is from the earlier merged Texas records (senate.gov). U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington (R, TX-19) is from house.gov/representatives (robots allows it). He is not on the 2026 TX-19 ballot, so his status is elected, not running. Governor Greg Abbott (R, term expires 2026) is from the SOS Statewide Elected Officials page (www.sos.state.tx.us, robots.txt empty).
  • State Senator Charles Perry (SD-28) is from senate.texas.gov/member.php?d=28 (robots disallows /_assets, /bin, /kids, /hola, /tsn and /memberForm.php only). The photo at /members/d28/img/ is outside the disallowed paths and is linked, not copied. The page prints no party; Republican is as on the SOS ballot listing. State Representative Carl Tepper (HD-84) is from Texas Legislature Online (capitol.texas.gov/Members/MemberInfo.aspx, allowed by robots); party is not printed there, so Republican is from the SOS listing. house.texas.gov was not used (robots disallows Claude agents).
  • Districts: Census geocoder (robots 404) on city hall coordinates (33.5848, -101.8459), plus point sampling on a 0.03-degree grid (88 points, 38 inside Lubbock city, place 4845000). All 38 are in Lubbock County, Congressional District 19 (120th map) and State Senate District 28. Texas House: HD-84 23 points, HD-83 15 points; only city hall's HD-84 is listed, per the brief. The 119th Congress map was not sampled separately. No street address is stored; city hall is located by coordinates only.
  • No standsFor entries: no candidate's own statement was read this run.
  • Municipal (added 2026-10-31): www.mylubbock.us and ci.lubbock.tx.us still answer robots.txt with a Cloudflare 'Attention Required' 403; the city's agenda host public.destinyhosted.com has robots 'User-agent: * Disallow: /' — neither fetched. Mayor and six council members taken from search-index text of the City's own agendas (Special City Council Meeting 2026-07-09 for Mayor, D1-D3, D5 Mayor Pro Tem, D6; 2026-08-11 oath of office for D4 Tim Green, who won the 2026-08-01 District 4 special-election runoff to replace Brayden Rose, term to 2028 — KTTZ/KCBD corroborate). All municipal rows unofficial:true; re-verify at mylubbock.us/170/City-Council. Lubbock city elections are in May (2026: Mayor, D1, D3, D5; D4 special June 27 + runoff Aug 1); no City of Lubbock race on the 2026-11-03 ballot found. Next regular city election: May 2028 (Mayor, D2, D4, D6) per the stagger — computed, not read from an official page.
