Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Region: Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG), the merged city-county government of all of Fayette County (Census incorporated place 'Lexington-Fayette urban county'). County-wide Fayette County offices are recorded at level 'municipal', as in the Louisville record.
  • Government Center coordinates 38.04496,-84.49557 (Census geocoder) fall in KY-6, Kentucky Senate District 13 and Kentucky House District 77 (2026 Census layers). A 6x6 geocoder sample over the county found every Fayette point (17) in KY-6, and the Kentucky General Assembly member lists show 7 Senate districts (12, 13, 17, 22, 27, 28, 34) and 9 House districts (39, 45, 73, 75, 76, 77, 79, 88, 93) touching Fayette ('Fayette (Part)'); the Clerk's Aug 2025 Elected Officials list names the same members. Only the Government Center's members are recorded.
  • Candidates: Kentucky Secretary of State, Candidate Filings (web.sos.ky.gov/CandidateFilings/, election '2026 General Election'), retrieved 2026-10-22 — US Senator (id=3), US Representative (id=4), State Senator (id=11), State Representative (id=12), and County Filings (countyfilings.aspx) for Fayette, offices Mayor, City Legislative Body, Commonwealth's Attorney, Circuit Court Clerk, County Judge/Executive, County Clerk, County Attorney, Sheriff, Jailer, Coroner, PVA and Surveyor. Cross-checked against the Fayette County Clerk's 'Candidates in ballot order' PDF (created 3 Sept 2026, linked from fayettekyclerk.gov/elections/candidates/); the two lists agree. Withdrawn section excluded (Nicholas Wolter, District 5; Tyler K. Dean, SD-12; a duplicate Gary Ginn filing). Write-ins skipped (Thomas Michael Murphy, Robert Quigley, Gary Roland). The lists print P.O. boxes and personal emails — not copied; only campaign-domain emails kept.
  • 2026 LFUCG races are NONPARTISAN ('Nonpartisan' on the SoS list; 'COUNTY OFFICES (non-partisan)' on the Clerk's ballot). The Mayor and the three at-large members (top vote-getter becomes Vice Mayor) serve four-year terms and the 12 district members two-year terms (LFUCG councilmembers page), so the whole council and the mayoralty are on this ballot. Mayor: Linda Gorton (incumbent) vs Raquel E. Carter. Not running again: Chuck Ellinger II (at-large), Tom Eblen (3), Liz Sheehan (5), Lisa Higgins-Hord (6, appointed Aug 2025 after Denise Gray stepped down), Dave Sevigny (10), Jennifer Reynolds (11). Next LFUCG election: November 2028 (district seats); Mayor and at-large November 2030. LFUCG Charter Amendments 1-3 (council salary from 2031; attendance/accountability rules; lottery-selected charter review) are also on the ballot.
  • Sitting officeholders: Mayor and council from lexingtonky.gov (Councilmembers page; About Mayor Linda Gorton), official @lexingtonky.gov emails kept, office phones not copied. County officers, Commonwealth's Attorney and Circuit Court Clerk from the Fayette County Clerk's 'Elected Officials, August 2025' PDF (it prints office street addresses and phones — none copied); a change after Aug 2025 would not show there, but the clerk (Susan Lamb) and sheriff (Kathy H. Witt) are confirmed on the clerk's live Board of Elections page. County Commissioners, Magistrates, Constables, school board and judges are district/judicial offices and not recorded.
  • Federal: Barr (KY-6) from house.gov/representatives; Senators McConnell and Paul from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (senate.gov not used — known HTTP 403); all three also on the Clerk's officials list. U.S. Senate 2026: Andy Barr (R), Charles Booker (D), Christopher Campbell (Kentucky Party). KY-6: Ralph Alvarado (R), Zach Dembo (D), Jay J Bowman (Independent), Pete Lynch (Kentucky Party). No federal photos linked.
  • State: Governor Andy Beshear (governor.ky.gov; party from the SoS 2023 results; next election Nov 2027). SD-13 Reginald L. Thomas (not up) and HD-77 George Brown Jr. (running vs Jason Griffith, R) from legislature.ky.gov profiles; @kylegislature.gov emails kept, headshots linked not copied.
  • Photos: LFUCG photos NOT linked — lexingtonky.gov's Copyright policy forbids reusing, copying or framing its photographs on another website without written permission, and the photo host content.lexingtonky.gov is robots 'Disallow: /'. lexingtonky.gov text is likewise 'property of the City/LFUCG' — single facts only.
  • counts: elected = sitting officeholders recorded (incl. those running); running = everyone on the 2026-11-03 printed ballot recorded (incl. incumbents); unopposed = only printed candidate for the seat: council Districts 1, 2, 5, 7, 10, 12 and Judge/Executive, County Attorney, County Clerk, Sheriff, PVA, Coroner.
  • Robots/terms: web.sos.ky.gov (robots.txt 404 — no rules; ASP.NET form posted with the page's own view state, no login/CAPTCHA); legislature.ky.gov, governor.ky.gov, elect.ky.gov (robots disallow only SharePoint system paths); www.lexingtonky.gov (allows these pages; disallows /sites/ and *.pdf — none fetched); content.lexingtonky.gov (Disallow: / — not fetched); fayettekyclerk.gov (allows; Content-signal ai-train=no — not training); dt4647cgvo9o2.cloudfront.net, the clerk's WordPress media host, returns S3 'AccessDenied' (403) for /robots.txt — read as a missing file, not a rule, and three PDFs linked from fayettekyclerk.gov were fetched there; house.gov (allows /representatives); unitedstates.github.io (CC0); geocoding.geo.census.gov (robots 404). tigerweb.geo.census.gov rejected the request ('Request Rejected') at robots.txt — not used. The State Board's 2022 Fayette general recap PDF is a scanned image with no text layer — not used. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read).
