Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: Census geocoder address lookups — Lansing city hall (124 W Michigan Ave) → CD-7, SD-21, HD-77; East Lansing city hall (410 Abbot Rd) → CD-7, SD-28, HD-75 (120th Congress and 2026 state legislative layers). Because the region is two cities, the legislators for BOTH city halls are recorded. Not point-sampled; other House districts (e.g. HD-74, HD-76) may cover parts of Lansing.
  • City of Lansing: www.lansingmi.gov (robots: no disallow for *, crawl-delay 20 honoured) renders its Council Members, Elections and Mayor pages entirely in client-side JavaScript; the HTML served carries no names, so the Mayor and the City Council are NOT recorded. No other official roster (Legistar not used by Lansing) was found within the search budget; news/Ballotpedia were not used as a source. Lansing city elections are held in odd years (next: 2027).
  • City of East Lansing: Mayor and four Councilmembers from cityofeastlansing.com/996/Meet-the-Council (2026-10-31), with each member's printed term end (November 2027 or 2029) and official @cityofeastlansing.com email. Phones printed on the page not copied. Non-partisan: party null.
  • Statewide: Governor/Lt. Governor tickets and the six U.S. Senate candidates read from the Clinton County list (same names on the Shiawassee list). Peters, Slotkin (CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json) and Whitmer (nga.org) rows carried over from us-ann-arbor, read the same day. Barrett from house.gov/representatives (read 2026-10-31).
  • SD-21 (Lansing city hall) candidates could not be read (Ingham/Eaton ballot only; Ingham closed to crawlers; Eaton County's Elections page posts only local, school and township lists for Nov 3, 2026).
  • Robots/terms: geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt), shiawassee.net (allows), clinton-county.org (ClaudeBot group: admin/search/calendar paths only; crawl-delay 10), eatoncounty.org (ClaudeBot group: same; crawl-delay 10), cityofeastlansing.com (allows; crawl-delay 10), lansingmi.gov (crawl-delay 20), senate.michigan.gov (disallows /search only), legislature.mi.gov (no robots.txt), house.gov (allows /representatives), content.civicplus.com (allows /api/assets/; one City of Lansing boards PDF read, no council roster). BLOCKED: clerk.ingham.org / www.ingham.org (robots disallow-all via docs.ingham.org). standsFor null for everyone. No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded.
