Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: New Jersey Division of Elections official lists — US Senate (dated 07/27/2026; 4 candidates) and House of Representatives (dated 09/04/2026). The 09/04 House list agrees with the 07/27 certification of general-election nominees for NJ-8 and NJ-10. Names and party/designation as printed (upper case); the lists print each candidate's address — none copied. NJ-8 has no Republican nominee (the House list totals 11 Republicans for 12 districts). Aristotle Eliopoulos is listed as INDEPENDENT with a county-specific slogan (Hudson: PEOPLE BEFORE POLITICS). Write-ins and primary losers excluded. The amended Senate certification and amended NJ-10 certification linked from nj.gov returned 404.
  • Municipal: Mayor James Solomon (bio page: sworn in January 15, 2026) and the nine-member City Council (Wards A–F plus three at-large; Denise Ridley is Council President) from jerseycitynj.gov, read 2026-10-22. Lavarro's page gives 'First Elected To Council: Dec. 2, 2025' and 'Current Term Expires: January 14, 2030'. Jersey City offices are nonpartisan; party null. Next regular Jersey City municipal election (Mayor and all 9 council seats): November 2029 (terms expire 2030-01-14); no city election in 2026. Council emails are obfuscated on the page and were not recorded.
  • State legislators: the NJ Legislature (www.njleg.state.nj.us, www.njleg.gov, pub.njleg.gov) refused connections / timed out (HTTP 502 on port 80) — not bypassed. LD-32 members therefore rest on the Division of Elections' certified 2023 State Senate result (Raj Mukherji) and 2025 General Assembly result (Katie Brennan, Ravi Bhalla); current tenure not confirmed on a member page. LD-31 (south/west Jersey City) members not recorded per the city-hall-only rule.
  • U.S. Senators from the CC0 @unitedstates congress-legislators dataset (www.senate.gov returned HTTP 403 to robots.txt; not bypassed). House members, districts and websites from house.gov/representatives (read 2026-10-22). Governor from nj.gov/governor. NJ-9 (Nellie Pou) covers other Hudson municipalities; no sampled Jersey City point fell in it.
  • Hudson County offices on the Jersey City ballot were not read (no county level in the mapping); the Hudson County Clerk sample ballots were not opened.
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). data.openstates.org returned 403 to robots.txt and was not used.
