Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates from the Mississippi SOS statewide composite sample ballot for November 3, 2026 (PDF dated 9-9-26, text layer read). It matches the SOS 2026 Candidate Qualifying List for every federal race captured. Ballot labels 'Democrat'; partyShort normalised to Democratic. Write-ins skipped; primary losers excluded. No Hinds County election page was used: www.hindscountyms.com answers robots.txt with a 503 registrar 'new domain' parking page.
  • Districts: Census geocoder (2026 legislative and 120th Congress layers). City Hall coordinates (-90.1848, 32.2988) give Jackson city / Hinds County / CD-2 / SD-29 / HD-67. Sample points also inside the city: (-90.13, 32.38) CD-3, SD-25, HD-64; (-90.26, 32.27) CD-2, SD-28, HD-69. Several Senate and House districts cover the city; they were not all counted (no polygon overlay done). Only City Hall's SD-29 and HD-67 are recorded as people.
  • Federal officeholders from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (bioguide H001079, W000437, T000193, G000591). House photos are clerk.house.gov URLs built from bioguide IDs; not fetched or checked this run. senate.gov and house.gov were not used.
  • State legislators from the Mississippi Legislature member XML on billstatus.ls.state.ms.us (no robots.txt, 404; House term 2024-2027; the House roster PDF is a scan). The Legislature 'Terms and Conditions' page is placeholder lorem-ipsum text; the disclaimer only limits liability. The Legislature is elected in odd years (next regular 2027). Governor Tate Reeves from governorreeves.ms.gov (Yoast robots allow; no terms read); next election 2027.
  • Municipal: Mayor John Horhn and seven ward council members from jacksonms.gov (robots allows; no terms page found), retrieved 2026-10-29. Jackson municipal offices are non-partisan on this record (party null) and not on the 2026 ballot. They were last elected in 2025, and the next municipal general election is expected in 2029 on the four-year cycle. Neither date was confirmed from an official page.
  • counts: elected = people now in office (incl. incumbent-running); running = people on the 2026 ballot (incl. incumbent-running). DA special-election candidates are named in election.elects only and are not person rows.
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded (Senate roster prints a P.O. box and phone; not copied). standsFor null for everyone. Ballotpedia, Wikipedia and news were not used.
