Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Region check: local/data/us-hagerstown.json is Hagerstown, Maryland (centre 39.6493,-77.7197).
  • Districts: Census Geocoder matched City Hall, 1 E Franklin St, 21740 (39.6432,-77.7193) to Congressional District 6 (120th), State Senate District 2 and State Legislative Subdistrict 2B (2026 layers). An 8x8 grid of Census Geocoder coordinate lookups over 39.60-39.68 N, 77.67-77.77 W gave 22 points inside 'Hagerstown city': all 22 in CD-6; Senate District 2 (21) and 1 (1); House 2B (20), 2A (1), 1C (1). Only City Hall's legislators are recorded (Senate 2 and Delegate 2B), per the brief. A point sample, not a polygon intersect.
  • Municipal: Mayor from https://www.hagerstownmd.org/133/Meet-the-Mayor and the five Councilmembers from https://www.hagerstownmd.org/134/Meet-the-City-Council (retrieved 2026-10-31): 'Five members are elected at-large and serve four-year terms'; the Mayor serves a four-year term. Official @hagerstownmd.org emails as printed; office phones not copied; photos linked from the City's image repository, not copied. No other city-wide elected office (City Administrator is appointed).
  • City elections: https://www.hagerstownmd.org/125/Election — 'a general election shall be held every four years on the General Election day in November to coincide with the Presidential Election'; elections run by the Washington County Board of Elections. So no City office is on the 2026-11-03 ballot; next city election November 7, 2028 (Mayor and all five Council seats).
  • Federal: Senators from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (Van Hollen class 3 to 2029, Alsobrooks class 1 to 2031 — no Maryland Senate seat up in 2026; senate.gov not requested). MD-6 member confirmed on https://www.house.gov/representatives (retrieved 2026-10-31). No federal photos linked.
  • State: Governor/Lt. Governor rows carried over from us-baltimore (governor.maryland.gov, 2026-10-22). Senator Corderman (District 2) and Delegate Schindler (2B, 'Appointed') from the Maryland General Assembly member index and detail pages (mgaleg.maryland.gov, robots.txt 404); official senate/house.maryland.gov emails; photos linked from /2026RS/images/; capitol and district phones/addresses not copied.
  • Candidates: Maryland SBE 2026 Gubernatorial General Election State candidate list (HTML 'Last updated: 10/16/2026 06:00:PM' and its CSV 2026_GG_statewide_candidatelist.csv), retrieved 2026-10-31. Only 'Active' Regular/Federal/Party Designated filings recorded; withdrawn and failed-petition filings (MD-6: Hajra Kirmani withdrawn 10/17/2025; Chris Hyser write-in, withdrawn) and write-ins are excluded. Captured: Governor/Lt. Governor (4 tickets), MD-6 (McClain Delaney D*, Robin Ficker R, Moshe Y. Landman Green), State Senate 2 (Corderman R*, Van Buren D), Delegate 2B (Schindler D*, Brenda J. Thiam R; Sean Flaherty R declined 07/31/2026). Comptroller (Lierman D vs Dunn R) and Attorney General (Brown D vs Rutledge R) are also statewide on the ballot but not recorded as people. No contest in scope is unopposed. The list prints campaign mailing addresses, phones and personal-provider emails — none copied except campaign-domain addresses.
  • Washington County offices on the local list (2026_GG_all_counties_candidatelist.csv, fetched 2026-10-31) were not recorded (county commissioners, sheriff, etc. are out of scope).
  • Robots/terms: hagerstownmd.org robots.txt has a group naming ClaudeBot that disallows only admin/search paths; the '*' group sets Crawl-delay 10, honoured. elections.maryland.gov, house.gov allow; mgaleg.maryland.gov and geocoding.geo.census.gov have no robots.txt (404). Nothing blocked. standsFor null throughout (City bios are in the City's voice, not campaign statements).
