Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and six council members (four districts, two at-large) from the City Council page on www.greenvillesc.gov, retrieved 2026-10-31. robots.txt: Baiduspider and Yandex disallowed; the * group shares Crawl-delay: 20 with the Siteimprove groups, so requests were spaced 20 s+ (four pages in all). The page body loads through a CivicPlus content API; the names and seats come from the page navigation ("John DeWorken - District 1" etc.). No emails, photos or terms of office recorded — the per-member pages were not opened to keep requests low.
  • City elections: www.greenvillesc.gov/elections shows tabs "2027 Municipal General Election" and "2029 Municipal General Election" (tab contents load from the API and were not read), so no City of Greenville office is on the 2026-11-03 ballot; next municipal general election 2027.
  • Candidates: South Carolina Election Commission Candidate Tracking (vrems.scvotes.sc.gov; no robots.txt), 11/3/2026 Statewide General Election, status Active — the U.S. House and State House result pages read 2026-10-29 for us-north-charleston were re-used (same official list; Greenville rows: SC-4 Timmons R, McClain D, Ethridge L; HD-23 Dillard D only). Statewide rows (Senators, Governor, U.S. Senate and Governor candidates) copied from us-north-charleston (2026-10-29). The CSV export (filing-form contact details) was not used.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at City Hall (206 S Main St): CD-4 (120th), SD-7, HD-23 (2026 layers). A 0.015-degree grid gave 30 points inside the city: congressional CD-4 (30); State Senate SD-6 (4), SD-7 (15), SD-8 (11); State House HD-20 (1), HD-22 (3), HD-23 (10), HD-24 (13), HD-25 (3). Only City Hall's legislators are listed, per the US brief.
  • Legislators from the SC Legislature member lists (scstatehouse.gov member.php?chamber=H / S, read 2026-10-29; /images/ is robots-disallowed so no photos). U.S. Representative from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (session copy 2026-10-31). senate.gov and congress.gov not used.
