Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Region check: local/data/us-glendale.json is Glendale, Arizona (display 'Glendale-Peoria, Arizona', metro phoenix, centre 33.6089,-112.2171), not Glendale, CA.
  • Mayor and six district councilmembers from City of Glendale - City Council, https://www.glendaleaz.gov/Government/City-Council, and each member's page (retrieved 2026-10-22). Council: six councilmembers elected by district (Barrel, Cactus, Cholla, Ocotillo, Sahuaro, Yucca) plus a mayor elected at large; there are no other city-wide elected offices. Emails are the official glendaleaz.com mailboxes as printed; phone numbers not copied.
  • LICENCE: glendaleaz.gov Legal Policies (Copyright Policy) says the whole site is copyrighted and 'you may not copy them or reference any items on these Web sites in your code' or redistribute without written permission from Glendale Marketing/Communications. Only facts (names, offices, districts, official mailboxes, term dates) are recorded; no text is quoted and photoUrl is null for every council row although official headshots exist. Jim: ask Glendale Marketing/Communications for permission if photos are wanted.
  • City election cycle: the Ocotillo member page says the appointment 'covers the remainder of the former Councilmember's term through December 2026', and the City's April 2024 vacancy notice says 'term expiring December 2026'; Tolmachoff (Cholla) was first elected November 2014. So Barrel, Cholla and Ocotillo are on the 2026 cycle (primary with the state primary, top-two runoff on 2026-11-03 if no majority), and Mayor, Cactus, Sahuaro and Yucca were elected in 2024 (Conchas 'elected ... in 2024'), next in 2028. OFFICIAL CANVASS (added 2026-10-31): City of Glendale Resolution No. R26-74, 'declaring the official canvass of votes cast in the City of Glendale Primary Election held July 21, 2026; declaring the election of three council members', adopted 2026-08-04 at a Special City Council meeting (agenda on the City's agenda host public.destinyhosted.com, linked from glendaleaz.gov Public Meetings & Notices): https://public.destinyhosted.com/glenddocs/2026/AACC/20260804_6215/13343%5FR26%2D74%5FEng%5FCombined%2Epdf — Barrel: Lisa Baker 2,362, Michael Calles 2,134 → Lisa Baker elected (incumbent Bart Turner was not a candidate); Cholla: Lauren Tolmachoff 6,148 (sole candidate) → re-elected; Ocotillo: Leandro Baldenegro (incumbent, appointed) 720, Rory Goreè 955 → Rory Goreè elected. All three were issued certificates of election at the primary, so NO Glendale council race is on the 2026-11-03 ballot. Baker and Goreè are members-elect and are NOT added as rows (statuses are elected/running only; same convention as us-chandler/us-mesa); Turner and Baldenegro stay 'elected' until their terms end in December 2026. Jim: in January 2027 swap Turner → Lisa Baker (Barrel) and Baldenegro → Rory Goreè (Ocotillo). Mayor, Cactus, Sahuaro and Yucca next elected in 2028.
  • Congressional districts covering Glendale: 8, 9 and 3. Shares from 142 points falling inside 'Glendale city' (Census Geocoder coordinates lookups on a 12x12 grid over 33.49-33.73 N, 112.15-112.42 W, refined 2x2 around the city): CD8 50.0%, CD9 39.4%, CD3 10.6%. Coarse - point-sample, not polygon area (TIGERweb rejected the request to robots.txt, so no polygon was used). City Hall (5850 W Glendale Ave) geocodes to AZ-8 and Legislative District 24. Members from the House Clerk's MemberData.xml (published 1 Oct 2026); websites from the GPO Congressional Directory (20 Feb 2026). No member photos linked.
  • Legislative districts covering Glendale (same point sample, 2026 SLDs): LD27 36.6%, LD24 28.9%, LD29 20.4%, LD22 10.6%, LD26 3.5%. Only LD 24 (city hall) members are listed, per the brief.
  • State legislature: Arizona elects one senator and two representatives per legislative district. City Hall is in LD 24; its three members (all 'D' on the roster) are from the azleg.gov Senate and House Member Rosters (https://www.azleg.gov/MemberRoster/?body=S and ?body=H, retrieved 2026-10-22, one request each, 120-second crawl-delay honoured; both served normally with no challenge this time). The roster prints only the mailbox name, completed here as @azleg.gov (same convention as us-phoenix); office phone numbers not copied. The roster's party letter 'D' is written as 'Democratic'.
  • Senators and Governor from the GPO Official Congressional Directory (20 Feb 2026; the Arizona state table names Governor Katie Hobbs) - Kelly re-elected 2022, Gallego elected 2024, so NO U.S. Senate seat is on Arizona's 2026 ballot.
  • NOT CAPTURED - federal and state candidates for 2026-11-03: Maricopa County Elections (elections.maricopa.gov) answers a Cloudflare 'Just a moment' challenge (HTTP 403) even to robots.txt, and azsos.gov returns 403 to robots.txt (2026-10-22); no bypass attempted, no other User-Agent or tool tried. Hobbs, Hamadeh, Gosar and Ansari are therefore left 'elected', not 'incumbent-running'. Jim: the Maricopa '2026 General Election Candidates On Ballot' PDF would fill AZ-3/8/9, Governor and LD 24 at once (shared with us-phoenix and us-mesa).
  • RECHECK 2026-10-31 — federal/state candidates still NOT CAPTURED: robots.txt itself answered Cloudflare 'Just a moment' (HTTP 403) on elections.maricopa.gov, recorder.maricopa.gov, azsos.gov, www.azsos.gov, apps.azsos.gov, arizona.vote, www.arizona.vote, apps.arizona.vote, results.arizona.vote, azcleanelections.gov and www.azcleanelections.gov; no HTML/CSV copy of the '2026 General Election Candidates On Ballot' list exists on any reachable official host (www.maricopa.gov, the County's main CivicPlus site, allows ClaudeBot but carries no candidate list). Search results show the County filer PDFs (elections.maricopa.gov/asset/jcr:d046889e-.../2026.08.06 General Filers.pdf) but they sit behind the same block. No bypass, no other User-Agent or tool. Jim: open the Maricopa 'Candidates On Ballot' list in a browser to add U.S. House, Governor and the city-hall legislative district candidates.
