Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates (federal and state): Florida Division of Elections Candidate Tracking System, 2026 General Election (elecid 20261103-GEN), County = Alachua, Status = ALL (except WIT/DNQ), Office = ALL, retrieved 2026-11-01 (dos.elections.myflorida.com robots.txt 404 = no rules). Kept Qualified/Unopposed for U.S. Senate, FL-3, Governor (with Lt Governor running mates as printed after the slash) and the city-hall seats SD-6 and HD-21. Dropped: Defeated (primary losers), write-ins (WRI: Kathy Anderson/Daniel Nokovich and Erik Morris/LeRoy Alaways for Governor; Kyle 'KC' Gibson for Agriculture; James Hunter Batley HD-10), Cabinet (AG Uthmeier REP v Rodriguez DEM; CFO Ingoglia REP v Taddeo DEM; Agriculture Simpson REP v Mendoza Atkins DEM), judicial, and HD-10 (Rawson REP v Malwitz Jipson DEM) and HD-22 (Chad Johnson REP incumbent v Amy Trask DEM). Party codes as printed (REP, DEM, NPA, LPF, ASP). Candidate detail pages (which print addresses) not opened.
  • Districts: Census geocoder at City Hall gives FL-3, SD-6, HD-21. A 6x6 grid (21 points inside 'Gainesville city'): FL-3 21/21; SD-6 15 / SD-9 6; HD-21 13 / HD-22 8. SD-9 is not on the 2026 Alachua list. HD-22 (Chad Johnson, R, sitting; flhouse.gov) is on the ballot but is not city hall's seat — not listed as people.
  • Municipal: Mayor and six Commissioners from gainesvillefl.gov City Commission page (robots allows; retrieved 2026-11-01), with the official gainesvillefl.gov emails printed there (the shared office phone not copied). The Commission has seven members: four district, two at-large, and the mayor. No other city-wide elected office is named.
  • City election: the City Clerk's 'Upcoming City Election' page says 'The City of Gainesville regular election is on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, for the Mayor At-Large seat, City Commissioner District 2, City Commissioner District 3 and City Commissioner District 4 seats. City elections were changed to be held every other year in even-numbered years ... administered by the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office'; 'Gainesville Run-Off Election (if needed): Nov. 3, 2026'. Its 'Candidates for Office' list: Mayor — James Lesesne, Jr., Harvey L. Ward, Jr., Evan Morgan Moon; District 2 — Nelida Jean Baptiste-Pellot, Wyatt Clark Zintiz, Nathan Crabbe; District 3 — Casey Willits, Dejeon Cain, Billy Rohan (Withdrawn), James Walton Gardner; District 4 — Bryan Eastman (only name). The August results and any November run-off could NOT be read: www.votealachua.gov (Alachua County Supervisor of Elections) answers robots.txt with HTTP 403, and www.voterfocus.com (its candidate vendor) answered robots.txt with 503 'maintenance'. A web search found a student-newspaper report (Independent Florida Alligator, dated 2026-08-23) that Nathan Crabbe won District 2 and incumbent Casey Willits won District 3; the mayoral outcome was not visible. News only — not used for anyone's status, so no Gainesville candidate is recorded as running. New terms begin in January 2027; the next regular city election after 2026 is in 2028 (at-large seats A and B and District 1 — inferred from the even-year cycle).
  • Federal officeholders: Senators from the CC0 legislators-current.json; FL-3 from house.gov/representatives. Governor DeSantis row reused from the 2026-10-15 jacksonville reading via us-tallahassee (flgov.com disallows Claude agents). SD-6 from flsenate.gov/Senators (robots allows; Crawl-delay 10 honoured); HD-21 from the flhouse.gov Representatives list (robots allows; 'Hinson, Yvonne Hayes — Democrat — District: 21 — Parts of Alachua, Marion — 11/06/24 - 11/03/26').
