Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: eleven council members from the City Council page (eauclairewi.gov/310), retrieved 2026-11-01. The page: "There are eleven members on the Eau Claire City Council. Five of the members are elected from aldermanic districts. Five members and the Council President are elected at large. At-Large Alderpersons were elected to three-year terms in 2025. District Alderpersons were elected to three-year terms in 2024. The City Council President was elected to a three-year term in April 2023." Council-manager city: no mayor. Council members are reached by the City's contact form; no individual emails or phones copied; each member's directory page is linked as 'website'. Wisconsin municipal offices are non-partisan.
  • Municipal election: the City Elections page lists 2026 dates Spring Election April 7, 2026 ("Complete"), Fall Partisan Primary August 11 ("Complete"), Fall General Election November 3 — no city offices in November. The Council President term that started April 2023 was due in April 2026; that result was not read. Next city election: April 6, 2027 (the five district seats, per the three-year cycle on the council page).
  • Districts: City Hall (203 S Farwell St; 44.8121,-91.4989) geocodes to CD-3, Senate District 31, Assembly District 91 (Census geocoder, 2026 layers). The 2025 Assembly list shows two members from Eau Claire: Jodi Emerson (AD-91) and Christian Phelps (AD-93); a sample point at -91.55,44.80 is in AD-93. Part of the city lies in Chippewa County (City Elections page: Wards 16 and 41). Only city hall's members are recorded.
  • Federal: Derrick Van Orden from house.gov/representatives (read 2026-11-01). Senators and Governor/Lt Governor rows carried over from the us-green-bay record. State legislators from the docs.legis.wisconsin.gov 2025 member lists; official @legis.wisconsin.gov emails only; Capitol phones not copied.
  • Candidates: WI-3 Derrick Van Orden (Republican), Rebecca Cooke (Democratic), Alexander Valiensi Kent (Independent), Rustin Provance (Independent), and Governor/Lt Governor tickets Tiffany/Varnam (Republican) and Crowley/Godlewski (Democratic), all from the Portage County Clerk's official November 3, 2026 ballot (Portage County is in WI-3). Write-ins skipped. NOT captured: SD-31 and AD-91 contests — the Eau Claire County Clerk (eauclairecounty.gov) posts no Type B notice or sample ballot, WEC's elections.wi.gov answered a Cloudflare challenge, and myvote.wi.gov's ballot lookup is an address form (not used). Search results (WisPolitics, a chamber page) name possible SD-31 candidates, but they conflict and are not official, so none is recorded.
  • Robots/terms: www.eauclairewi.gov (CivicPlus robots; ClaudeBot named in an AI-crawler group with path rules only; '*' Crawl-delay 10 kept); www.eauclairecounty.gov (robots redirects to a Revize 404 — no rules); www.co.portage.wi.gov (CivicPlus; 10 s kept); docs.legis.wisconsin.gov, www.house.gov (paths allowed). No photos linked; standsFor null for everyone.
