Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor, Auditor and Clerk and Recorder from https://www.denvergov.org/Government/Elected-Officials and each office's page; 12 sitting Council Members (Districts 1-11 and At-Large Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez) from 'Council Members' Websites & Contact Info' and each member's page, retrieved 2026-10-15. Denver has 13 council seats (11 district + 2 at-large); At-Large Seat B is VACANT: Sarah Parady resigned effective 2026-08-05 and council declared the vacancy the same day (city page). Seat A/Seat B labels come from a 2025 charter amendment (Denver Elections Division). Emails kept are the official @denvergov.org office addresses printed on each member's page; staff addresses not copied. Diana Romero Campbell's page says she serves as Council President.
  • Next Denver municipal election: April 2027 (Mayor, Auditor, Clerk and Recorder, all 13 council seats), with a June 2027 runoff if needed. The Denver Elections Division 'Upcoming Elections' page says 'a Municipal Election is held every fourth April ... The next Denver municipal election will take place in 2027' — Denver's municipal elections are in April, not May. Exact date not printed on the pages read; the Clerk's media release reports 2027 Fair Elections Fund disbursements already under way.
  • At-Large Seat B special (vacancy) election, 2026-11-03: the 10 candidates are from the official Denver 2026 general / special municipal sample ballot (final-2026-general-sample-ballot-engspa-2.pdf, Denver Elections Division), read by word coordinates under 'Councilmember At-Large - Seat B'. Non-partisan; no runoff; the winner serves to July 2027. A separate certified-candidate PDF for the vacancy election was not found on the Elections Division pages.
  • Federal: U.S. Representatives from https://www.house.gov/representatives (Colorado table; no photos linked). U.S. Senators (Bennet, Hickenlooper) from the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (senate.gov not used; known 403). Hickenlooper's class-2 seat is on the 2026 ballot (verified on the SOS list and Denver sample ballot); Bennet's term runs to 2029.
  • Districts: Census TIGERweb polygon for Denver city (place 0820000) sampled on a 200x200 grid (11,020 points, ~0.2 km spacing) against the 120th Congress districts; generalized geometry gave stray CO-7/CO-8 points that the Census geocoder put in CO-1, so CO-6 was re-sampled at full resolution (400x400 grid: 89 of 44,085 points, ~0.2%, around S Holly St / E Yale Ave) and two points confirmed by the geocoder. Result: CO-1 and CO-6 only — matching the two congressional contests on the Denver sample ballot. The City and County Building geocodes to CO-1, Colorado Senate 31 and House 5 (2026 layers). By the grid Denver is covered by 5 Colorado Senate districts (26, 31, 32, 33, 34) and 9 House districts (1-9); only the City and County Building's are recorded as people.
  • State: Senator Matt Ball (SD-31) and Representative Alex Valdez (HD-5) from leg.colorado.gov member list and member pages (official coleg.gov emails as printed). Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera from the Secretary of State's official 2022 general-election abstract, because governor.colorado.gov did not respond and colorado.gov/governor and ltgovernor.colorado.gov returned HTTP 403 (not bypassed); their 2023-2027 term is a matter of that certified result, not a live roster.
  • Candidates: Colorado Secretary of State '2026 General Election Official Candidate List' (HTML table; 'certified to the counties on September 4'), retrieved 2026-10-15. Captured: U.S. Senate, CO-1, CO-6, Governor, Lt. Governor, SD-31, HD-5. Excluded: certified write-ins (Write in? = Y: 3 for U.S. Senate, 3 for CO-1) and one withdrawn (struck-through) name in SD-35 (outside scope). Joint Governor/Lt. Governor tickets split into one row each, paired in notes. 'Unaffiliated' recorded as party null, partyShort 'Independent'. Cross-checked against the Denver sample ballot.
  • Open seats on the ballot: CO-1 (DeGette not on the general list), Governor, Lieutenant Governor, HD-5 (Valdez), and Council At-Large Seat B (vacant). Incumbent-running: Hickenlooper (U.S. Senate), Crow (CO-6), Matt Ball (SD-31, unopposed — the only certified candidate).
  • Robots/terms: denvergov.org (robots.txt read; no Disallow on the pages used; Terms of Use: the City 'retains copyright on all text, graphic images and other content' and bars redistribution/re-use without written permission — photos are linked only, never copied; names and offices are facts), denvervotes.org (redirects to denvergov.org), coloradosos.gov (robots allows /pubs/; privacy/legal disclaimer, no reuse restriction stated), leg.colorado.gov (robots allows member pages, disallows /rails/ and /active_storage/ where photos live — so no legislature photos linked), house.gov (allowed), unitedstates.github.io (no robots.txt; CC0), geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt), tigerweb.geo.census.gov (robots.txt returned a WAF 'Request Rejected' page; the REST query service answered normally). No home addresses, phones or personal emails recorded. standsFor null for everyone (no candidate statements read). No rows are 'unofficial'.
