Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: Census geocoder at the municipal building gives CD-2, SD-12, HD-70. A 5x5 geocoder grid (15 points inside the city) put every point in WV-2, SD-12 and HD-70. A sample, not a full overlay; delegate districts 69/71/72 also appear on the Harrison ballot and may touch the city edges.
  • Candidates: from the Harrison County Clerk's 2026 General Election sample ballot (linked 'View Sample Ballot' on harrisoncountywv.com/county-clerk.html; harrisoncountywv.com has no robots.txt — 404). Party codes as printed (REP, DEM, CST; LBN and MTN lines say 'NO CANDIDATE(S) NOMINATED'). The ballot prints each candidate's town and county of residence; not copied. Write-in lines skipped. Contests captured: U.S. Senate (Capito REP v Rachel Fetty Anderson DEM v S. Marshall Wilson CST), WV-2 (Riley Moore REP v Ace Parsi DEM), SD-12 (Ben Queen REP v Lynette Murray DEM), HD-70 (Paul J. Howe III REP v Shannon Welsh DEM). Open seat: HD-70 (Petitto not on the ballot). Unopposed: none of these.
  • WV Secretary of State: the candidate listing (candidates.wvsos.gov, linked from The Green Papers as 'Candidates Listing by Office') returns 'Access Denied' 403 to robots.txt (a root-page request also returned the same 403 — nothing read); apps.sos.wv.gov/elections returned 403. Not bypassed. The county sample ballot is the official list used.
  • Federal/state members: U.S. Senators from the CC0 congress-legislators file; Rep. Riley M. Moore from clerk.house.gov MemberData.xml (October 1, 2026). SD-12 (two senators, Queen and Martin) and HD-70 (Petitto) from the wvlegislature.gov Senate and House rosters and member pages, with their official @wvsenate.gov / @wvhouse.gov emails and linked photos. Governor Patrick Morrisey from governor.wv.gov (the home page names him; it does not print his party).
  • Municipal: NOT recorded. www.cityofclarksburgwv.com robots.txt has 'User-agent: ClaudeBot / Disallow: /', 'anthropic-ai' and 'Claude-Web' Disallow: / (checked 2026-10-31), so no city page was read. Clarksburg has a council-manager charter with an elected council (mayor chosen from council) — not confirmed from an official page here. Next municipal election date not read (the WV SOS lists June 2 and June 9, 2026 municipal election calendars; whether Clarksburg voted in June 2026 is not confirmed).
  • Robots/terms: harrisoncountywv.com (no robots.txt), wvlegislature.gov (allows; /apps/ etc. disallowed, not used), governor.wv.gov and sos.wv.gov (allow these pages), clerk.house.gov / unitedstates.github.io / geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt). The Green Papers (robots.txt returns an HTML page) was used only to find the SOS link. standsFor null for everyone. No phones, addresses or personal emails recorded.
