Carlsbad: who represents it, and who is running

U.S. general election (federal, state and county offices) votes on 2026-11-03. It elects per the Eddy County 2026 General Election Proclamation: one U.S. Senator; U.S. Representatives (NM-2 for this city); Governor and Lieutenant Governor; all 70 State House seats (HD-55, HD-66 here); one State Senate seat (District 33, unexpired term — not this city's SD-34/41/42); judges and county offices. No City of Carlsbad offices (city elections are in odd years under NM's Local Election Act). The proclamation lists offices only, not candidates..

Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

Districts: Census geocoder at City Hall gives CD-2, SD-34, HD-55. A 5x5 geocoder grid (16 points inside the city) all fell in NM-2; state districts seen: SD-34 (9), SD-42 (4), SD-41 (3); HD-66 (10), HD-55 (6). A sample, not a full overlay. Only City Hall's seats are recorded as people.
Candidates: NOT captured — no official 2026 general-election candidate list could be read. (1) NM Secretary of State candidate portal (candidateportal.servis.sos.state.nm.us) answers robots.txt with an F5 'The requested URL was rejected' 403, so not used; sos.nm.gov itself links only a 2021 local-election list. (2) The Eddy County Clerk's Elections page (eddycountynm.gov/219) carries the 2026 Proclamation (offices only) and past results, no sample ballot or candidate list. (3) The Bernalillo County Clerk composite sample ballot that us-albuquerque read in October (it covers NM-2 and statewide contests) now answers a CloudFront 403 to robots.txt; the PDF request also returned 403 — nothing was read. The coordinator may copy NM-2, U.S. Senate and Governor candidates from us-albuquerque, which cites that list. (4) Doña Ana County (also NM-2) — no candidate list found on its site.
So everyone here is recorded as 'elected' only. The 2026 ballot carries U.S. Senate (Luján's seat), NM-2 (Vasquez), Governor (open — Lujan Grisham term-limited per us-albuquerque) and HD-55 (Brown); SD-34 (Townsend) is not up.
Municipal: Mayor, Municipal Court Judge and eight councilors (two per district, Districts 1-4) from the city's Elected Officials page, with their official @cityofcarlsbadnm.com emails (the mayor's is the office address). Phones printed there not copied. Party not printed (NM municipal elections are non-partisan).
Next municipal election: New Mexico's regular local election is held in November of odd-numbered years, so the next Carlsbad city election would be November 2, 2027 — inferred from the Local Election Act cycle, not read from a city page; which seats are up was not read.
Robots/terms: cityofcarlsbadnm.com (User-agent: * with no Disallow), eddycountynm.gov (CivicPlus; Crawl-delay 10 honoured), nmlegis.gov (Crawl-Delay 2 honoured; only *.axd disallowed), governor.state.nm.us (Allow: /), sos.nm.gov (allows), clerk.house.gov / unitedstates.github.io / geocoding.geo.census.gov (no robots.txt). standsFor null for everyone. No Ballotpedia, Wikipedia or news used as a source.
2026-10-31: statewide U.S. Senate and Governor candidates copied from us-albuquerque, which read the official list; NM-2 candidates still not recorded.
