Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Scope: Brooklyn is a borough (Kings County) of New York City, not a city of its own. Rows: city-wide NYC officers (Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller) and the Brooklyn Borough President and District Attorney, carried from the us-nyc record (read 2026-10-15 from nyc.gov, advocate.nyc.gov, comptroller.nyc.gov, brooklynbp.nyc.gov, brooklynda.org; not re-read); the 17 Council members whose districts the Council page places in Brooklyn (33-48, and 50 shared with Staten Island; 34 shared with Queens), re-read 2026-10-31 from council.nyc.gov/districts (official @council.nyc.gov emails and portraits linked; Carr's district email not captured).
  • Candidates: Board of Elections in the City of New York, 'The Contest List — General Election 2026', Kings section, printed 9/11/2026 and headed 'TENTATIVE / SUBJECT TO CHANGE' — still the only 2026 general list linked from vote.nyc/page/list-candidates on 2026-10-31. The list prints candidates' home addresses: none copied. Fusion voting: party = every line as printed; partyShort = the major line, else the single line. State Comptroller and Attorney General are on the ballot but not recorded as people. Judges and the four charter proposals not recorded.
  • Open House seats in Brooklyn: NY-7 (Velázquez not on the list) and NY-10 (Goldman not on the list). Jeffries (NY-8), Clarke (NY-9) and Malliotakis (NY-11) are on it. Members from house.gov Directory and the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (2026-10-31); senate.gov not used.
  • Districts: Census Geocoder at Brooklyn Borough Hall (40.6928, -73.9903; coordinates only) gave Kings County / Brooklyn borough, CD-7 (120th), SD-26, AD-52 (2026). The Kings section of the BOE list carries 5 congressional, 12 State Senate and 22 Assembly contests (some districts cross borough lines; districts not up or unopposed still appear). Only Borough Hall's state districts are recorded as people.
  • State: AD-52 Jo Anne Simon from nyassembly.gov/mem (official email and headshot linked). SD-26 Andrew S. Gounardes rests on the BOE's certified 2024 Kings return (nysenate.gov answers a Cloudflare 'Just a moment...' 403 even to robots.txt — not bypassed). Governor Hochul and Lt. Governor Delgado carried from us-nyc (governor.ny.gov, read 2026-10-15); Delgado is not on the 2026 list.
  • Next city elections: Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, Borough President and all Council seats in November 2029; Brooklyn District Attorney in 2029 (per the us-nyc record). No City of New York office is on the Brooklyn ballot in 2026.
  • Robots/terms: vote.nyc, council.nyc.gov (Crawl-delay 10, honoured), nyassembly.gov and house.gov robots allow the pages used; geocoding.geo.census.gov and unitedstates.github.io have no robots.txt. No reuse terms stated on the pages read. standsFor null for everyone. Write-ins and primary losers excluded. No home addresses, phones or personal emails in any row.
