Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Mayor and six district council members from the City of Boise City Council page and the Mayor page, retrieved 2026-10-22. Boise has elected council by district since 2021 (HB 413); in 2023 odd districts took four-year terms and even districts two-year terms, so Districts 2, 4 and 6 were up in Nov 2025 and the Mayor and Districts 1, 3 and 5 are next up in Nov 2027. There is no City of Boise election on the 2026 ballot. Only the Mayor's office email is printed; council members are reached by a web form. City of Boise Terms of Use bar reproducing site content; only facts and links are recorded. The 2025 results were not re-read; the council page as published is the source.
- General-election candidates: the SOS's own 'full candidate list' is https://run.voteidaho.gov/search, an Angular app (no robots.txt; meta noindex) that loads data from a session-token API, and the personalized sample ballot (votertools.voteidaho.gov) is robots 'Disallow: /'. Ada County's sample ballots sit behind the token-gated API of its GIS Election Day app. None of these was scripted. The 'running' rows therefore rest on the SOS's official 2026 Primary canvass report (May 19, 2026): each party nominee for U.S. Senate, ID-1, ID-2, Governor and LD-19 Senate/Seat A/Seat B. Not captured: independent and minor-party candidates who file straight to the general (they are not in a primary canvass), any Constitution Party nominee, and any nominee who withdrew or was replaced after the primary. Primary losers are not listed.
- Ada County Elections 'November 2026 Candidate Filings' (adacounty.id.gov/elections/candidate-filings/) covers only county, ACHD and CWI races and sends federal/statewide/legislative users to the SOS list; county races are outside this record's scope. adacounty.id.gov robots.txt disallows /Portals/ and /cgi-bin/ only; neither was fetched.
- Federal: senate.gov answered Akamai 403 even to robots.txt, so the two Senators are from the Idaho Legislature's Congressional Delegation page; the two Representatives are from the House Clerk's MemberData.xml (published 1 Oct 2026). No member photos linked.
- District coverage by land area, computed locally from Census 2024 cartographic boundary files (www2.census.gov GENZ2024: cb_2024_16_place_500k, cb_2024_16_sldu_500k, cb_2024_us_cd119_500k) clipped to the Boise City polygon (223.1 km2): ID-2 195.5 km2 (87.6%), ID-1 27.7 km2 (12.4%). Legislative districts (Idaho uses one map for both chambers): LD18 76.9 km2, LD19 51.7, LD17 36.8, LD15 29.8, LD16 22.0, LD14 2.4, LD20 1.7, LD22 0.9, LD21 0.8 - nine districts, the last four only edge slivers that may be boundary generalization. City Hall (coordinates 43.6152,-116.2026) falls in ID-2 and Legislative District 19 per the Census Geocoder.
- Idaho elects one Senator and two Representatives (Seat A, Seat B) per legislative district, so three state legislators are recorded for City Hall. Legislators' listings print mailing addresses and home phones; only the official @senate.idaho.gov / @house.idaho.gov emails were kept.
- No standsFor recorded: none of the official lists print candidate statements. Unopposed in the general (on the canvass evidence): none - every recorded contest has at least a Democratic and a Republican nominee.
