Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor and six Councilmembers (four districts, two at-large) from bloomingtonmn.gov "City Councilmembers and district maps", retrieved 2026-10-31 (robots.txt: Drupal default, page allowed). Official @BloomingtonMN.gov emails as printed; the phone numbers printed beside them NOT copied. Council-Manager charter (1960); no other city-wide elected office. Non-partisan.
  • Next City of Bloomington municipal election: November 2027 (City candidate-filing page: "Candidate filing materials will be available prior to the next candidate filing period in July 2027"; terms printed expire 2028-01-01 and 2030-01-01, i.e. staggered four-year terms elected in odd years). Hennepin County's Offices on the Ballot page (updated 2026-09-02) lists no Bloomington city office for 2026-11-03.
  • Districts: city hall geocodes to CD-3, SD-51, HD-51B. A 7x9 point sample (Census geocoder coordinates endpoint) put 43 points inside Bloomington city: all CD-3; Senate 50 (22) and 51 (21); House 50A (2), 50B (20), 51B (21). 51A also appears among Hennepin's districts and may hold a sliver of the city — coarse sample. Only city hall's SD-51 and HD-51B members recorded.
  • Candidates: the MN Secretary of State's candidate-filings and election-results pages (www.sos.mn.gov, electionresults.sos.mn.gov general-election pages) redirect to a Radware bot-manager CAPTCHA (validate.perfdrive.com) — not bypassed. A request to the MyBallotMN ballot-data API for a Bloomington address range was refused by this agent's own permission guard and was not retried. So the 2026-11-03 candidates for MN-3, SD-51 and HD-51B are NOT recorded and those sitting members stay "elected". Statewide contests (U.S. Senate, Governor/Lt Governor tickets) are carried over from the us-minneapolis record, which read the SOS ballot data on 2026-10-22. Secondary pointers (not used as sources): a Wikipedia mirror says Wiklund is retiring (SD-51 open); AFSCME lists an endorsement of Simon Traulman-Cordova for SD-51 — re-check against the SOS list when reachable.
  • Federal: Morrison (MN-3) from house.gov/representatives (robots allows). Senators via the CC0 @unitedstates legislators-current.json (senate.gov returns 403). Governor Walz row reused from the us-minneapolis record (mn.gov's robots.txt limits visits to 0000-1200 GMT; this run was at ~23:10 GMT and did not fetch mn.gov).
  • Hosts: geocoding.geo.census.gov, myballotmn.sos.mn.gov, unitedstates.github.io, www.mnsenate.gov (robots 404 = no rules); www.house.gov, www.bloomingtonmn.gov, www.house.mn.gov, www.hennepincounty.gov (robots read, paths allowed); electionresults.sos.mn.gov (robots redirects to NotFound; home page read, then Radware CAPTCHA on the next page — stopped). www.senate.mn redirects to www.mnsenate.gov.
