Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Districts: Beaumont City Hall (801 Main St; coordinates 30.0853, -94.1018) geocodes to CD-14, State Senate District 3, State House District 22 on the Census geocoder's Current layers (120th Congress, 2026 state legislative) and to the same CD-14 / SD-3 / HD-22 on the ACS2025 layers (119th Congress, 2024 legislative). Not point-sampled: other Texas House districts (and possibly TX-36) may cover outer parts of the city; only city hall's members recorded.
  • Federal/state candidates: Texas SOS Election Results site, 2026 November General Election ("Updated 10/14/2026 07:34 AM"), lists each race with candidates and (I) for incumbents before polls open; robots.txt 404 (no rules). Write-in lines skipped. Names title-cased; ballotName keeps the printed form. Statewide rows (Cornyn, Cruz, Abbott, Paxton, Talarico, Brown, Hinojosa, Dixon) carried over from the us-tyler record, which read the same SOS listing.
  • Sitting members: Weber from house.gov/representatives (robots allows); Nichols from senate.texas.gov/member.php?d=3 (robots disallows only /_assets, /bin, /kids, /hola, /tsn, /memberForm.php; photo linked, not copied); Manuel from Texas Legislature Online MemberInfo (capitol.texas.gov, allowed).
  • City of Beaumont: www.beaumonttexas.gov returned a Cloudflare 'Attention Required' block (HTTP 403) to robots.txt itself (2026-10-31, again 2026-11-01); nothing else on the host was requested, so the Mayor and City Council are NOT recorded and the city's next election date could not be read.
  • Jefferson County: co.jefferson.tx.us robots.txt redirects to jeffersoncountytx.gov (User-agent: * with path rules only; read). Its County Clerk Elections page redirects to www.jeffcotxvotes.gov, which answered with an AWS WAF 'Human Verification' challenge (HTTP 405) — the redirect was followed automatically before that host's robots.txt could be read; its robots.txt was then requested and also challenged. Nothing read from jeffcotxvotes.gov; no county candidate list or sample ballot used.
  • No home addresses, phones or personal emails. standsFor null for everyone.
