Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Candidates: Virginia Department of Elections HTML 'November 3, 2026 - Federal Offices' list (updated 10/6/26), matched name-for-name to the City of Alexandria sample ballot page (alexandriava.gov/elections/sample-ballots): Senate Warner (D, incumbent) vs Mizusawa (R); VA-8 Beyer (D, incumbent), Sabio (R), Arnoldi (L), Sharman (I). ELECT's Local Offices list (updated 10/9/26) has no Alexandria City rows, and its referendum page (updated 9/8/26) lists no Alexandria question. ELECT robots.txt disallows *.csv/*.xlsx/*.json; only HTML used. Write-ins excluded. No race is unopposed.
  • Municipal: Mayor + six at-large council members, three-year terms, elected together in November every third year. Next regular Mayor/Council/School Board election: November 2, 2027 (then November 5, 2030), per the City's Election Calendar 2026-2031. A special Council election was held April 21, 2026 (Sandy Marks; vacancy evidently from Kirk McPike's move to the House of Delegates, not stated by the City). Council party affiliations exist (parties nominate) but are not on the ballot; recorded as None.
  • City-wide constitutional officers: Commonwealth's Attorney and Sheriff (next 2029), Clerk of the Circuit Court (next 2027). The calendar states Alexandria does not elect its Treasurer or Commissioner of Revenue. School board skipped per brief.
  • Districts: City Hall (coordinates 38.8048, -77.0434; Census geocoder) is CD-8, SD-39, HD-5. The City's 'Alexandria Voting Districts' map (produced 3/27/2026) shows Senate 39 for every precinct and House 3, 4 and 5; House list describes HD-3 (Alfonso H. Lopez), HD-4 (Charniele L. Herring) and HD-5 as covering part of the City. Only HD-5 is recorded as a person.
  • Officeholder emails: official only (Senate/House). Alexandria council person pages print no email (contact by online form), so null. No home or campaign street addresses or phone numbers recorded; personal-style webmail on the ELECT list not copied.
  • Robots/terms: elections.virginia.gov (HTML allowed); www.alexandriava.gov (Drupal default; only admin/search/user/core/profiles disallowed; terms: reproduction free 'for personal or nonprofit use'); apps.senate.virginia.gov and geocoding.geo.census.gov have no robots.txt (404); house.vga.virginia.gov (empty rules); governor.virginia.gov (about-the-governor allowed). senate.gov and house.gov not visited. One plain User-Agent; no blocks met. Wikipedia, Ballotpedia and news not used.
  • Unverified: McPike's party is not printed on the House pages read (left null); Kaine's party is not re-read this run. standsFor null for everyone.
