Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Municipal: Mayor from https://www.akronohio.gov/government/mayor_s_office/index.php; the 13 council members (Wards 1-10 and three at-large) from https://www.akroncitycouncil.org/members and each member's page (official portrait linked; official wardN@/atlargeN@akronohio.gov email), retrieved 2026-10-22. Leadership per the pages: President Margo Sommerville (Ward 3), Vice-President Brad McKitrick (Ward 6), President Pro-Tem Tina Boyes (Ward 9). Akron holds partisan municipal primaries, but party is recorded only where a member's page prints it ('(D)': Wilson, Lombardo, Sommerville, McKitrick, Connor); others party null. The Akron charter was not read, so no other city-wide elected office was confirmed (none is listed on the council or city sites); the Akron Municipal Court judges and Clerk of Courts are court offices and are not listed.
  • Election cycle: the mayor was sworn in 2024-01-01; ward and at-large members' pages give Nov 2019 / Nov 2023 elections with January starts (four-year terms), and the Ward 1 page states the full four-year term is elected 'in May (Primary) and November (General) 2027'. Next Akron municipal election: November 2, 2027 (general; primary May 2027) — inferred from those pages, not published on any page read; verify with the Summit County BOE. No City of Akron office is on the 2026-11-03 ballot; whether any Akron charter amendment or levy is on it could not be checked (Summit BOE unreachable).
  • Districts: Census geocoder (coordinates endpoint; robots.txt 404 = no rules) at city hall (41.0814, -81.5190, inside 'Akron city', place 3901000, Summit County): OH-13, Ohio Senate 28, Ohio House 34. A 12x14 grid (~1.6 km spacing) gave 54 points inside Akron: OH-13 54/54 on the 120th-Congress layer and 18/18 of a one-in-three subsample on the 119th; Ohio Senate 28 54/54; Ohio House 33 (29), 32 (14), 34 (11) — three House districts cover the city; only city hall's (HD-34) is in scope. OH-13 also covers parts of Stark and Portage counties (Canton, North Canton, Kent, Streetsboro sampled in OH-13). Slivers under the grid spacing could be missed.
  • NOT CAPTURED — Ohio Senate SD-28 and Ohio House HD-34 (sitting members and candidates). Both lie in Summit County only, and no official source was reachable: www.summitcountyboe.gov 301-redirects to https://www.boe.ohio.gov/summit/, and boe.ohio.gov answers a Cloudflare challenge (HTTP 403, cf-mitigated: challenge, 'Ohio Secretary of State's Office Website Maintenance') even to robots.txt; ohiosos.gov is behind the same challenge (earlier runs); www.ohiosenate.gov, ohiohouse.gov and www.legislature.ohio.gov refused connections (port 443 timeouts, 2026-10-22). The Stark County lists carry only Stark's own legislative districts (SD-29, SD-31, HD-48 to HD-51). Not bypassed. Fill from the Summit BOE or the legislature when reachable.
  • Candidates: Stark County Board of Elections 'Candidates List, General Election Tuesday, November 3, 2026' (printed 10/15/2026 4:40:15 PM), linked from https://www.starkcountyohio.gov/government/offices/board_of_elections/index.php — an official county list carrying every statewide contest and OH-13 (Stark is partly in OH-13). It stands in for the Summit County list, which could not be read. Status 'Nominated' (party nominee) and 'Filed' (independent) both recorded as running. Excluded: write-ins (Grady/Neutzling, Hill/Manley, Turner/Turner for Governor; Stephen Faris, Anthony Holliman, Timothy Telymonde for U.S. Senate), 'Withdrawn' Ron Ula and Michael C. Lehnerd, other statewide offices (Attorney General, Auditor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Supreme Court), county offices and judges. The list prints some candidates' home addresses and phone numbers (including Emilia Sykes's): none copied.
  • Sitting officeholders: U.S. Senators, Governor, Lieutenant Governor from the Stark County BOE Elected Officials List (revised 8-12-2026), an official county elections roster; the term column prints values for U.S. Congress rows ('June 2026- May 2035' etc.) that look like extraction artifacts, so no federal term dates are quoted. Representative Sykes from https://www.house.gov/representatives (Ohio table; robots allows; website sykes.house.gov). senate.gov and governor.ohio.gov were not read. The Stark roster prints officeholders' home street addresses: none copied.
  • Open seats on the 2026 ballot: Governor (DeWine, term ending 1-11-27), Lieutenant Governor (Tressel). Incumbent-running: Husted (U.S. Senate special), Sykes (OH-13). Unopposed: none among the seats captured (SD-28/HD-34 unknown).
  • Robots/terms: geocoding.geo.census.gov (robots 404; public Census service); starkcountyohio.gov (robots.txt 404 = no rules; Terms of Use read first, see licence); www.portagecounty-oh.gov (robots: crawl-delay 10, no relevant disallow; home page returned a Cloudflare 'Just a moment...' challenge, so the Portage BOE list was not read); akronohio.gov (robots.txt 302 to cms2.revize.com, 404 = no rules; no terms found); akroncitycouncil.org (robots allows /members; privacy policy only; '© Akron City Council. All rights reserved.'); house.gov (robots allows /representatives). One User-Agent used throughout ('ResearchUpon-politics/1.0'); no block retried. Cuyahoga BOE not used (robots disallows ClaudeBot; Cuyahoga is not in OH-13). standsFor null for everyone: council bios are third-person office text and no candidate statements were read. No home addresses, personal phones or personal emails recorded.
