Fundemental Roles of Modern Business

There are many different names for jobs these days, however, working for a venture-backed startup of 100+ people I was able to gain market insights into what drives a modern startup.

I personally found that the most important strategic advantages of this digital startup were how it established a CRM software in the early days and integrated everything into that sales pipeline for deals, and also its use of outbound email marketing that sent millions of e-mails per month to customers and vendor/partners.

Startups will generally be broken into departments with these crticial roles:

• Management (CEO, CFO, VP of Sales, CIO, COO)
• HR - human resources management systems & payroll, hiring & recruitment
• Sales - account managers, account executives (AR), business development (SDR/BDR) reps
• Marketing -
• IT - IT consulting, DevOps (web hosting, software testing and release schedules) & software programming
• Finance - accounts receivables, accounts payables
• Customer Service - help desk software and live chat software

Jobs & key roles in Society

We are just cracking the surface as far as influencers and influencer marketing for people and brands doing business together. It's dubbed the passion economy, and many worker coops will form out of this. It will be more important than ever for an economic system that encourages people to do business with eachother. Brand messaging will continue to personalize for each user.

How can we integrate a sustainable business model for growth and prosperity for humans to interact with brands and eachother? We must figure out how to integrate new roles into society such as podcasters, streamers, video gamers and educators of all sectors. We must figure out new business models so that people consider buying these relationships in every day life.

Entertainer

If you desire being known and having some form of celebrity, acting (even reality TV) or comedy this is for you. eSports and video gamers are becoming modern day celebrities. Arenas are filling up to watch live eSports, which are becoming as famous as physical sports like hockey, baseball, basketball, American football, soccer, rugby, cricket, lacrosse and golf. Modern day jesters will come and go, but YouTubers and Twitch streamers seem to be here to stay for a while.

Writer

Writing takes place in journalism (investigative reporters) or screenwriters can write movies. Comedy writers are important for sketch/comedy shows as well. Entrepreneurs can write business books on their journey to success. Authors can help an athlete, comedian or entertainer with their autobiography as a ghost writer, editor. Novelists can use their imagination to write fiction novels. Poets and playwrights can muse and entertain on Broadway and theatre productions. Book publishers have been important for centuries, and more recently eBooks and audiobooks are critical to disseminate the knowledge of writers around the world.

Broadcaster

Radio broadcasting has been popular for decades, voiceovers for movies and education, marketing or sales promotions too. Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular with entertainers as guests for the dark web of intellectuals and comedians.

Presenter

Twitch streamers are a modern form of the more traditional TV presenters. There's modeling like promoting products as a promotional (or promo model) or runway fashion models, you're promoting a fashion designer and their clothing lines.

Director

Out of these entertainment roles like entertainers, writers, broadcasters, presenters one may begin directing. It's possible to arrive here directly on your own, but more than likely due to exposure of the process and how other directors are working.

Coaching

Besides professional athletes and leaders at the highest level, its very foreign to acquire the services of a coach. Self-improvement is a $10 Billion market. We believe new business models will develop for this industry the most rapidly besides the entertainment/broadcasting/podcasting industries. Many of these coaching gigs can be online (online education will be a $130 Billion market) as well. We have sports coaching, strength & conditioning coaches, online fitness/wellness coaches, nutritionists (and supplements resellers), personal trainers (this fitness market is worth $32 Billion), lifestyle/life coaches, small business mentors (for startups)

Healer / Doctor / Physician

psychologist, naturopath, osteopath, chiropractor - awareness of all biological human elements, diagnose & treat diseases Financier - financial analyst, investor, stock trader, hedge fund manager
